Saturday (1st March) is the start of Spring and for the beginning for the season, it’s looking quiet with some settled spells but chilly nights.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter ~ 1st March is the start of meteorological Spring (perhaps I should have put that in the title) The meteorlogical seasons change on the 1st of the month so summer is 1st June, Autumn 1st September etc

leesmum ~ towards the end of next week, things are looking very spring-like, with some decent temperatures. But spring being what it is, there's still the chance of chilly nights and frosts....

We had our first frost of the year today and it looks like tomorrow too. I'd say we had signs of spring for a few weeks now.

I wonder so does this mean march will come in like a lamb and go out like a lion?
If so, I think I'll take it one day at a time and enjoy the spring like weather for now!

The last couple of days have been gorgeous blue skies and warmth although I've woken up to frosty white lawns and frozen bird baths. Long may it continue (with no lions involved).

bloody hell it’s cold this morning though.

Baltic temperature today aside, it’s started to feel properly spring like outside this week.

Sun has been out, birds are singing away and trees are in bud. Daffodils have been out for a while.

After a cold start (my weather station said it was -3.5C at 6.30am this morning), it's now rather nice out. I'm now waiting to hear the first lawnmower of the year....which neighbour is going to get their mower out first!

Started today very misty but this afternoon was blue sky. Went for a walk, was fairly fresh - I did wear gloves at times!

House got so cold the heating came on this afternoon. Doesn’t normally come on during the day unless it is below 14C

Haven’t heard a lawn mower so I may be the first on Monday morning

A Sudden Stratospheric Warming event (SSW) might have some effect on the weather in the next few weeks.....

Warm would be quite a bit nicer than cold please SSW.

I wonder if this is what it's like living in California? Sunshine all day. Makes life so much easier.

North Wales. We've had a week of frosty morning then 🌞 for the last week. 17c today. Gonna be wet tomorrow then a dry weekend. It's really quite civilised. Himself cleaned out the greenhouse yesterday. The tomato seedlings are bolting in the conservatory. The dogs are swimming in the sea. I've had a cleaning purge of glass doors. The windows need doing really, but tomorrow is another day 😁

It is indeed fabulous weather (apart from tomorrow for some areas.) Next week,
it's back to chilly though....

Realised that should be rain for some areas today rather than tomorrow...☔

Netweather have issued their Spring 2025 seasonal forecast ~ looks like they think the theme of 'changeable and unsettled at times' will continue....

This morning we had rain, hail and snow. Beat that 🤣

I had beautiful sunshine instead of the snow. Bitterly cold though.

Loving seeing all the snowdrops, crocuses and now the daffodils pushing through. Makes me happy 🤗

Forecast from Wednesday onwards is getting warmer 16c here by Friday. Might be wearing a dress woo hoo.

Yes, justasking111 ~ it looks like Spring has definitely arrived (although still with the chance of some frosty nights.) Frogs in our pond have been busy and the first batch of frog spawn was produced overnight...🐸

Blimey this weather is so nice! That’s all. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a forecast for wall to wall sunshine and warm ish temperatures for this time of year before. Getting my hopes up for a good summer!
