BBC Weather - Hurricane force winds across UK

This came as a bit of a surprise this morning! I've been outside and it's definitely a bit drizzly but no wind to speak of. I think someone at BBCW has pressed the wrong button 😆

In quite a posh hotel eating breakfast and snorted tea. Loved that!

This is properly weird though as Florida is in the midst of hurricane Milton and it’s the only place I’ve found in the world which is about to experience a light breeze

Apparently Cornwall doesn't exist in the UK according to BBC weather has it blown away?

Only if you've got one of those 'sit up and beg' bikes like Mrs Gulch in the Wizard of Oz...

It's not all are As though. 10miles up the road has light winds of 12mph.

Same here in London 3508 mph winds and there is not a leaf stirring on the trees.

They've posted on X about it too, with the proper forecast 😂

Same for Merseyside. At least I won't need to brush up the leaves later.

the BBC app apparently gives the most inaccurate weather forecast available, so they're absolutely wrecking their poor reputation further by putting stupid stuff like that on the app. People will just stop using it and go to more accurate apps, there are plenty out there.

766 mph winds here apparently. As it's Up North I'll just wear my big coat and press on.

@daisychain01 yeah I must admit I always used BBC Weather but swapped to the Met Office app yonks ago and it does seem more accurate.

381 degrees is a little bit scorchio, but you'd probably be ok with a t shirt, factor 50 and sun hat. Take a cool bag and some ice lollies and make a fun day of those unique conditions!
Just make sure to have the odd sip of water to keep your (now nuclear level hot) core temp down...☠👙

Where do the bbc get their info if not from the met office?
