This came as a bit of a surprise this morning! I've been outside and it's definitely a bit drizzly but no wind to speak of. I think someone at BBCW has pressed the wrong button 😆

Meh, just double peg it, it'll be fine... 😂

In quite a posh hotel eating breakfast and snorted tea. Loved that!

MagentaRavioli · 10/10/2024 06:55

This is properly weird though as Florida is in the midst of hurricane Milton and it’s the only place I’ve found in the world which is about to experience a light breeze

Apparently Cornwall doesn't exist in the UK according to BBC weather has it blown away?

Should I cycle with 14,965 mph winds?

Only if you've got one of those 'sit up and beg' bikes like Mrs Gulch in the Wizard of Oz...

Threewheeler1 · 10/10/2024 06:56

Crikey 😃 Same here in the south west 😁
Was meant to be clearing the leaves in the garden but I think they might just clear themselves, along with the trees, buildings and all life as we know it...
Are we part of some BBC run sort of Orson Wellesish experiment right now... 🤔🙃

When will someone notice the error at the BBC I wonder? Bit of a mess!

They've just asked Carol (the nice weather lady on BBC Breakfast) about it. So they are aware.

MargaretThursday · 10/10/2024 06:57

We've got 400mph hurricane force winds too!

It's not all are As though. 10miles up the road has light winds of 12mph.
Very localised.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 10/10/2024 06:58

I'm in Cyprus.

Same here , and the page for the story on Americas hurricane won’t load / not found

Pinana · 10/10/2024 06:59

I'm off to Legoland - do you think the rides will still be open?! 🤣

Threewheeler1 · 10/10/2024 07:02

Is this Russia dicking around with the UK again?
Or maybe a disgruntled employee, inexperienced intern, someone on the night shift having a laugh or falling asleep, face-planted on some big buttons?
Always found BBC weather really unreliable but this is extra special!

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 10/10/2024 07:03

Looks like it might be a bit too hot and windy for the beach tomorrow.

Looks like they fixed it now.

I'm in Cyprus.

Laughed out loud at this. At least you'll get a nice tan while being blown away!

Same here in London 3508 mph winds and there is not a leaf stirring on the trees.

They've posted on X about it too, with the proper forecast 😂

Wellfuckmesideways · 10/10/2024 07:06

Same for Merseyside. At least I won't need to brush up the leaves later.

Toomanysquishmallows · 10/10/2024 07:06

Same in north East London

It's actually not funny (if it is indeed a 'joke')

the BBC app apparently gives the most inaccurate weather forecast available, so they're absolutely wrecking their poor reputation further by putting stupid stuff like that on the app. People will just stop using it and go to more accurate apps, there are plenty out there.

notprincehamlet · 10/10/2024 07:09

766 mph winds here apparently. As it's Up North I'll just wear my big coat and press on.

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 10/10/2024 07:03

Not for me it isn't!

AChickenPooAndABiscuit · 10/10/2024 07:10

@daisychain01 yeah I must admit I always used BBC Weather but swapped to the Met Office app yonks ago and it does seem more accurate.

pancake123 · 10/10/2024 07:10

Is it safe to let the dog out for a wee? And has anyone seen the cat?

Threewheeler1 · 10/10/2024 07:10

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 10/10/2024 07:03

381 degrees is a little bit scorchio, but you'd probably be ok with a t shirt, factor 50 and sun hat. Take a cool bag and some ice lollies and make a fun day of those unique conditions!
Just make sure to have the odd sip of water to keep your (now nuclear level hot) core temp down...☠👙

Where do the bbc get their info if not from the met office?

MoreHairyThanScary · 10/10/2024 07:11

17047 mph here, it's funny it's incredibly still!
