This came as a bit of a surprise this morning! I've been outside and it's definitely a bit drizzly but no wind to speak of. I think someone at BBCW has pressed the wrong button 😆

Did the BBC accidentally get Guy Goma in as the expert meteorologist?

Should I cycle with 14,965 mph winds?

I'm not sure whether to be more concerned about the wind or the maximum temperature tomorrow....

When will someone notice the error at the BBC I wonder? Bit of a mess!

Ha @showersandflowers that’s just a breeze. It’s forecast as 4245mph here in Essex!

The windspeed here was forecast to be above 15000mph but it's now settled down to 542mph so I think I might risk taking a brolly.

As a bonus, little Earth might be seizing the crown for the windiest planet in the solar system:

Allegedly hurricane force winds of 5227 coming from the north east to Liverpool are forecast.

I've got it forecast for that here as well (Leicester) ~ wind speed of 3703mph today and tomorrow. Mmmm, better go and check everything's weighted down at the allotment.

Does anyone have any insight as to why the BBC have made this cock up? I assume it’s related to their excitement about the actual, terrifying hurricane in the states?
