BBC Weather - Hurricane force winds across UK

This came as a bit of a surprise this morning! I've been outside and it's definitely a bit drizzly but no wind to speak of. I think someone at BBCW has pressed the wrong button 😆

The Met Office app isn't showing hurricane force winds for St Albans 😂

I just looked at the weather to see if the rain might stop when I am due to take the dog out and it said 404 mph wind. Yet in Tampa it’s “only” about 80mph!!!

I think they're often cautious since 1987 and the great storm. Just covering their backs.

How strange! I randomly checked Manchester and it's looking fine there...

I've just looked for where I live and it too is hurricane force winds of 2682 miles an hour. I'm pretty certain at those speeds, not a single house would still be standing.

It's not just UK either.

My various saved locations across Europe have some OTT hurricanes winds too.

Same where we are. Better not put any washing out today.

Also tomorrow as well in Northants and I had planned a walk in the sunshine around a local reservoir

This is the wind forecast for me (weirdly specific, so I've blacked out the name of my road and town!). No hurricanes here!

That's funny OP. Hurricanes expected today and tomorrow in my area too 😂 I can hear some wind and rain so much is true.

Luckily the iPhone weather app reassured me that isn't to be the case.
