Winter Weather Outlook. Part 2: Into January '23

Not quite January yet, but the weather warnings continue. Generally a mild outlook to come, though of course parts of Scotland will see more wintry weather on and off.

We're down for heavy snow now from 4pm onwards with it carrying throughout the night, so looks like I'm in for a bit of a wait!

No snow here in Lincolsnhire, just a nice, clean frost.

Personally, I am keen to get spring properly started so all this wintery weather is very frustrating!

Overnight frost in Edinburgh. Coldest night in March for 30 years in Scotland at -14.6C for Altnaharra.
I can see cloud over the North Sea, but have more blazing sunshine.
Don't think we'll get any snow now till Friday. And if Monday's forecast comes off, it could be Beast from the East levels of snow...or it could just be rain.

Snow just west of Swansea! Which is very unusual as we’re coastal. Just a cm or two and quite wet stuff. Still coming down but not enough for schools to close.

Snow here in Kent, we're quite rural so trains have been disrupted but buses have run and schools open as normal. It's melting already luckily

Met Office keeps changing for me here in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
light snow at 2pm, heavy snow at 2pm, back to light snow at 2pm.

The warning area for today has been shifted north. So a good part of the Midlands to be affected as well as parts of East Anglia (less certain imo) and Wales.

It took me 2 and half hours to get to work! Raining in Mayfair, but we had a little flurry of snow just now. Not laying because everywhere is wet.

Still snowing at home, apparently...

Herts - We've just had hours of sleety showers. The fields are a bit boggy but roads and pavements clear. I'm pleased.

Snowing here on the London/Kent border, and a couple of centimetres laid already. Trains all seem to be running at the moment, so I'll be trekking to the station in an hour or so. I'd like it to either stop or become much heavier and stop all the trains before then 😂 I'll be keeping an eye out for it worsening whilst I'm at work, so I can get home (trains normally stop if there's a couple of flakes).

As soon as I read it I grabbed my bag and ran for the station. By the time I reached Waterloo, there were cancellations and delays all over the board! Got to Paddington and onto a train to Oxford to home and crucial hospital appointment, but was very lucky, as there was a lot of disrutpion.

Anyway, made my hospital appointment, now home in bed, so thank you @BatshitCrazyWoman !

Well done Nimbo! This snow is not behaving! I was expecting a transition to some rain now, but it's doubled down in my area and really going for it.

It was nice snow this morning in Guildford but now it is going slushy with wintery showers. One moment it is snowing, next rain. Nice light snow for the afternoon school run would be good.

Derbyshire here and it was snowing but light flakes that didn’t settle and now it’s stopped, I was expecting a full on avalanche today by the way our local weather reporter was waffling on last night!

We’re amber too now. Peak District. Nothing sticking yet but we have lost our view of the hills out the back as they’re now completely hidden by the snow/clouds.

Not a hint of grit has been detected around us.
