Winter Weather Outlook. Part 2: Into January '23

Not quite January yet, but the weather warnings continue. Generally a mild outlook to come, though of course parts of Scotland will see more wintry weather on and off.

Sadly the Met office forecast is showing rain here even though we do have a warning for snow and ice.

Met office predicting heavy snow where I am Thursday and Friday. I predict chaos!

Supposed to snow overnight. Really hope not. Clear sky atm.

If it would snow heavily overnight but clear by Friday I’d be happy with that.

The situation for much of the south is that you could get anything from rain, to a bit of snow, to disruptive amounts of snow. Best guesses at the moment are really for around the M4 area I think, so if you are flying wake up extra early, peek out of the window and check what's happened at Heathrow and perhaps also Gatwick.

Well, I'm South of the M4 and hoping for enough snow to make a believable excuse for not going into the office...

Frankly, it's too cold to be expected to move from under the duvet IMO

The roads in North Hampshire are dry so if we get the forecast 4 hrs of heavy snow in the middle of the night then it'll be fun and games for drivers in the morning.

Especially as it might be preceded by rain Meglet which would wash the grit away.

We've been warned that they won't get around all the roads in time if it does hit with the gritters 🙈

hmm my ex is driving dd home from Guildford tomorrow pm up m25, past m4 to bucks/herts border. And I'm supposed to be gardening 😅

It's snowing!! We are 200 asl in the Mendips N Somerset so quite high up and i woke up expecting this scene ( I've been on the Netweather regional Forums all day yesterday ) we are supposed to be getting snow all morning too ☺️
