Another storm and there is an Amber warning at the moment for Northern Ireland but I think there should be one for Cumbria/Lancashire as well, looking at the wind charts for tomorrow.

Its unsurprising that it has been named.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/02/2022 10:11

I'm away from access to models now for the day, but many places will see gusts of 50-60 mph but perhaps reaching 70mph in places. Of particular concern is that these are day time winds again and with weakened trees I think we could see fairly widespread Amber warnings.

Tr1skel1on · 20/02/2022 11:30

Amber warning on the IOM. Yet more storm force winds tonight.

We've had the 60mph gusts here on the NE coast all through the night and all day today so far. It just seems like the status quo here now. Only saving grace is it's half term here next week so at least I don't have to be blown about during school run. (I use crutches, which is fun when you're being battered by the weather, never mind dodging the usual kids zooming at you)

Needdoughnuts · 20/02/2022 14:00

Some workplaces are sending home early in North London.
I'm worried about the weakened trees. And also going away in the motorhome tomorrow eek!

Igneococcus · 20/02/2022 14:51

Argyll, right by the coast, we are just outside the yellow zone but it is howling outside, my windows are rattling, and the local forecast says the speed will increase for another three hours at least. Rain, hail and blue skies are taking turns.

RagzRebooted · 20/02/2022 16:21

We've just lost power again after getting it back last night. East Sussex/Kent border. Weather seems worse today as there's rain as well.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/02/2022 16:28

Popping in from my day out to warn that the squall line traversing the country now could carry some rather nasty winds with it. Don't be out under trees when it hits. I'd be interested in reading reports as it passes please.

GeneLovesJezebel · 20/02/2022 16:29

Just turned nasty here in the NW

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/02/2022 16:31

Its clear that there is hail associated with the squall line.

RagzRebooted · 20/02/2022 16:32

Yikes that looks nasty @OhYouBadBadKitten thankfully we are south east and may escape the worst of it. DS2 is being driven back at 5pm from half an hour away, hoping they are okay. We drove out earlier in the other direction (to a post office that should have been open and wasn't) and there were roads closed due to downed power cables. The police tape and signs had blown away/down on one of them so we didn't realise and DH drove under a VERY low cable while I ducked Blush
Needless to say, we came home via a different route!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 20/02/2022 16:33

Seems wetter and windier than yesterday here too (cheshire)
and dark!

OverByYer · 20/02/2022 16:35

Dreadful in SE Wales right now

feellikeanalien · 20/02/2022 16:39

Just had a call from the Environment Agency telling me we have a flood alert (Northumberland). Oh joy. I was just getting over the relief of not losing power for a third time since November!!

AlternativelyWired · 20/02/2022 16:39

Worse here than on Friday on the edges of the Peaks. I think the squall was what we experienced around 3pm. It was wild driving rain and hail and wind. Friday was just rather windy, not stormy really.

CornishTiger · 20/02/2022 16:41

I’m feeling it worst than Friday - it’s so noisy and windy.

Vicliz24 · 20/02/2022 16:42

It's a lot worse than Eunice here on the Notts/ Lincs border .

Ecosralayce · 20/02/2022 17:06

terrible here. lots of flood alerts in place locally. Looks like both routes out of the village are going to flood again. Much worse than Friday for us. South Yorks.

Millionairenow · 20/02/2022 17:13

North Bucks here, not as bad as Friday yet but waiting on the squalls due in an hour or so.

Brew for all those without power ...

Motorina · 20/02/2022 17:22

Currently (Suffolk) it's a wet and blustery old day, but nothing exceptional. I appreciate that squall line has yet to reach us.

GloriaSmud · 20/02/2022 17:23

Squall line passed us here (Leicester) about an hour ago and yes, there was hail!

beenrumbled · 20/02/2022 17:30

We had the squall line go through earlier. All our outside drains blocked and flooded the garage so I was trying to clear it when it hit. In less than 5 minutes I was soaked though to my undies. Luckily the fences withstood it.

Igneococcus · 20/02/2022 17:34

My neighbour just put her bins out. Our rubbish truck comes very early and it's usually safer to put them out in the evening but not today, we have between 48 and 54 mph winds until 6am.

dementedma · 20/02/2022 17:35

In Belfast, about to fly to Edinburgh. Pretty windy
