Something to really watch. GFS model is really looking a bit crackers next week with high temps of perhaps 35c mid week and night minima in the mid 20s. I'll post more tomorrow, but it doesn't look like the traditional school holiday cool down

Yeah I’ve also had a migraine all day. ☹️

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/07/2019 22:56

Are the storms coming to Cheshire @OhYouBadBadKitten - it is still baking here too!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/07/2019 23:00

Misti that sounds awful.

It's pretty heavy over Exeter. I wonder if Met Office people like storms.

MadamePompadour · 23/07/2019 23:02

I'm hoping for a stonkingly good storm.

PickAChew · 23/07/2019 23:04

Promised rain arriving in the NE, according to netweather, no thunder.

Kitchen reached 30, today. Coolest part of the country and never seen that, before.

RosaWaiting · 23/07/2019 23:04

I didn’t think there was any chance of rain in North London but updated forecast says there will be some tonight.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/07/2019 23:06

Tokyo, I'm not sure tbh, I think you've a reasonable chance of a storm, but they are at the moment really hard to forecast with any sort of certainty.

Today has been brutal. Keeping fingers crossed for a good storm. You all have me to blame for this heat by the way- whoever decided to get pregnant and be due the last week of July is an idiot. My feet don’t look like feet any more and my garden is absolutely frying in this heat!

TokyoSushi · 23/07/2019 23:09

Thanks OYBKK, fab job as always, much appreciated!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/07/2019 23:12

You're welcome Tokyo :)

You poor old sausage Pattern you must be so uncomfortable.

NoParticularPattern - my DC1 was born in 1976, and I still remember how hard it was to deal with the heat, so you have my sympathy.

lighting has arrived here! Bucks. Met Office website says 23 degrees, but feels more like 26-7 in the house.

RosaWaiting · 24/07/2019 01:13

North London has it now.

Rockbird · 24/07/2019 01:19

Lightning and a solitary rumble of thunder here in Surrey.

BelleSausage · 24/07/2019 01:25

Just passing the Cotswolds. It must be a monster storm. I haven’t seen anything like this since I was a child. I grew up in the tropics and this is just the sort of electrical storm we used to have after a period of intense heat. Very ominous.

Smelborp · 24/07/2019 01:32

Just continual flashes in Oxfordshire and we’re on the outskirts of it. We had a period of intense rain which has passed now.

I hate this weather. It makes me scared for the next 10 years even.

RozHuntleysStump · 24/07/2019 03:40

Extremely intense in Hull. Wow. Woke me up.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 24/07/2019 03:47

Thunder and lightening here in Cambridgeshire. It's really humid as well.

Our office was 35C yesterday. Dread to think what it will be like on Thursday

YesQueen · 24/07/2019 06:00

Not sure what time but I heard torrential rain briefly and thunder last night, was SO loud

Mitebiteatnite · 24/07/2019 06:32

We had the most spectacular lightning storm last night! Around 3.30am in West Suffolk, constant flashes with the odd rumble of thunder, although it was the initial huge crash that woke me. Then the most ridiculous torrential rain I've seen for years. The gutters on our house were like waterfalls. And then it was over just as quick as it started and now it's just hot again.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/07/2019 06:39

That was an incredible night last night! A few people have posted reports in the storm thread.
