So some snow starved areas have finally had a little taste of snow. What will happen next?

met office weather warnings I'm still very unsure as to why they have overnight warnings for central areas, but there you go. Most likely areas to see heavy snow overnight are NE England into Lincolnshire but I think a fair bit may be rain near the coast.

Marking my place. Our tiny amount of snow has melted. Still some on the north downs.

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 03/02/2015 12:44

Thanks for the new thread, will keep up with interest.

Counting down to Spring when the weather gets warmer.

There are the usual daffodils (well the stalks are coming anyway) coming out in the village even though it is cold and there was snow there last week Confused

Endler32 · 03/02/2015 12:53

We have had daffodils out ( flowers ) since a few days after christmas, I was hoping its a sign of spring coming early but I think they are just confused from last year as it was so warm.

We had our first dusting of snow last night but it's now gone, would love some real snow and then a early spring.

mummylin2495 · 03/02/2015 12:57

Most of the snow has thawed here already hope we get some more.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2015 12:58

I'm watching ours melt on the neighbours roofs. It's quite fascinating. I'm sure one of them has done a loft conversion because their snow melted really quickly while the attached neighbours still have a reasonable amount.

Lots of ice around this morning (Norfolk) but not a flake of snow :( It sleeted for a while around 11am but has been mostly sunny today and everything seems to have melted. The ice caused lots of traffic problems this morning, I hope it might not be as bad tomorrow.

girliefriend · 03/02/2015 13:02

I am South West (Somerset) any chance of snow?! It is very cold and we have had hail a few times but not a drop of snow yet Sad

Tubbytimmy · 03/02/2015 13:04

There is no evidence of it having snowed in Nw London now. Sunshine and just wet ground.

ColdJerseySpud · 03/02/2015 13:08

1cm of snow here over night, froze and was utter carnage on the roads this morning as no one gritted....even the hills!

BlackeyedSusan · 03/02/2015 13:13

we had a sprinkling of snow, the small round graupel stuff? anyway, you could see the gaps between it. nice to slide boots over though. all melted now. there was a fwo minute shower with big fdlakes which came to nothing.

GothicRainbow · 03/02/2015 13:18

We woke up to a lovely covering of snow this morning, good stuff too was crunchy, fluffy & sticky. Perfect for making snowmen! It's all starting to melt now which is a real shame.

Would quite like some more to fall!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2015 13:52

Girlie, it doesn't look likely this week, the weather is currently affecting the east and I just don't think it is going to reach that far over.

WhispersOfWickedness · 03/02/2015 14:09

When you/they say near the coasts, OYBBK, how close do they mean? I'm right in the middle of the wolds, about 30 minutes drive from the coast, are we more likely to get snow or rain?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2015 14:25

I think you might be just a little too far inland to get anything! I really don't understand why the met office are warning of this so much, I could be hugely wrong though so best to be aware. If it reaches you I think it will be snow.

OP posts:
WhispersOfWickedness · 03/02/2015 15:50

Ok, that's great, thank you OYBBK Smile I don't want anymore, we've got quite enoughGrin

tawnyowlsrock · 03/02/2015 16:13

Any snow due here overnite in south east

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 03/02/2015 16:19

No snow in Scotland. Sad We have yellow warnings but no snow, it was freezing cold last night at 9pm and we had frost on the grass but no white fluffy stuff, we still have a weather warning for tomorrow.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2015 17:33

Maybe just a very little tawny owl.

Thanku hate driving on snowy roads
Going food shopping tonite encase

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2015 17:36

Wimpy I wouldn't hold your breath for a huge amount.

I'm still really puzzled. Yes, some parts in the east will see some snow showers overnight and into tomorrow but I can see very little that warrants a yellow warning. I may be completely wrong and feel like an idiot tomorrow, after all the met office have access to data that the public don't, but nevertheless...

Wee tiny, hailstone type snow here in Fife just now. It's lying, so fingers crossed it keeps falling!

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 03/02/2015 19:42

We had the little bits of hail earlier,I'm not holding out hope though we've had yellow warning for most of last week and had nothing. It's been very cold but mostly sunny

magimedi · 03/02/2015 19:51
