So some snow starved areas have finally had a little taste of snow. What will happen next?

met office weather warnings I'm still very unsure as to why they have overnight warnings for central areas, but there you go. Most likely areas to see heavy snow overnight are NE England into Lincolnshire but I think a fair bit may be rain near the coast.

The precip seems to be in a blob south of a line from the Wash to just west of the IOW. Else where just the occasional snow shower

Right well it's bucketing down with snow right now and has been for a while but it's so wet out there it's not sticking! Argh!

We've had an attempt at snow here (Leicester) but 'tis a bit warm (3.4C) now so mostly rain/sleet.

Not a flake here. Central South East.

Still snow boots are in the car, just in case it changes later like it did last week!

Nothing here in Kent - blue skies and sunshine....think I'll pack my snow boots away as we haven't had any of the promised snow ...........(reverse psychology, that'll make it happen!)

Well the threat worked - we have snow - proper flakes. Not laying tho as too wet. But still.....SNOW!

It has been snowing here this morning ~ outskirts of Brighton. But it is now sunny & nothing was settling.

Snowing again now!!!

I don't think it will snow up here now and my hyacinth is growing.

the met office website really is hopeless these days.

North Hampshire has no snow forecast for 5 days, not even a single 4 am snowflake. But we're under the yellow snow warning bubble.

And now they seem to have removed the warning.
They really do need to change their thresholds, but it does mean that people accept that snow can fall without being in a warning area. Just because it's snow it doesn't mean it is severe weather.

We are all in for a very quiet spell of weather, coldish, dull at times with maybe a little bit of drizzle or just possibly light snow showers.

Good. Because I am off on holidays now so don't have any snow without me, will you?

'Tis certainly looking quiet weather-wise over the next few weeks. Brian Gaze a few days ago though on TheWeatherOutlook thinks that winter "might not be done with us yet" and there could still be the chance of colder weather.
(It better hold off until Swede is back!)
