Keeping a small eye on Sunday/Mondays weather

It probably won't come off but I'm keeping a bit of an eye on Sunday and Monday.

Models show remnants of hurricane Bertha coming close to our shores and develop them in different ways. It's hard (for me) to de tangle which bit are Bertha but the results are, either nothing to worry about at at all (most likely scenario) or some potentially wild and wooly weather as two of the models develop some pretty tight gradient lows for this time of year.

GFS takes it across northern Scotland bringing windy weather to the north, ECMWF brings it across southern and central England bringing windy weather to the south. UKMO just produces a slack low which could bring in plenty of rain.

Will update with developments.

Very big rumbles and torrential rain here in Swindon

I went out, stood a while (it's still warm) and put it all in the tumble drier as I already have the leaning washing lines if Falmouth. I reckon today would finish them off for good!

Near Eastbourne, Sussex. Sun trying to come out - pretty windy & very warm & humid.

Sunny morning way up north first thing today; now clouding over and by the looks of the warnings we're in for a pretty wet night & soaking monday - just on the edge of the amber warning now

The sun has bravely come out in north Bucks but am tracking the lightning to decide whether it will come to us from Oxford. Breezy.

Sun shining again between black clouds! The lightning struck around us according to the radar but not actually in view!

Weve had torrential rain and thunder storms in kent and the wind is picking up now.

Blue sky and sunshine again. The Met Office is showing another thunderstorm for us in Oxford at about 4pm but for now it's a mad dash to the allotment!

Rather an active squall line moving eastwards, currently across Hampshire.

The cloud line is moving fast, blue skies heading towards us!

updated warnings to reflect the dynamic situation. Note they extend overnight to include a small amber area in Scotland.

Interesting shape to the squall line so I'm just going to check on what one of the weather forums is saying.

It does seem like the cells around oxford (very ish!) are pretty potent.

Looks like it could be pretty bad in the Pennines tonight wind wise.

Very heavy rain here for a couple of hours this morning. DS1 cricket match was called off - he is not happy.

It has dried up over the last couple of hours nd is just grey and overcast here now.

Reports of trees down here. Cripes.

My dd is, with a friend, at an event being held in a London park today.
I hope they at least have some breaks in the rain - it's been raining steadily and often quite heavily here in East Midlands/ East of England all morning

Just had a massive clap of thunder here before I press post!

The squall line heading into the SE and EA does look quite nasty on the radar. Be warned, it was enough to bring down a tree or two locally and it looks more intense now.

Thanks BBK. Hopefully they'll leave the park if weather gets outrageous? I think there was some alternative indoor venue mentioned if it's needed
