from the met office

They are very broad based at the moment because as is ever with thunderstorms, you can have all the right conditions for them but actually predicting whether and where they will trigger is a big challenge.

Warning is for torrential rain as a result of thunderstorms which may also bring hail and strong wind.

We've just had a short downpour preceded by rumblings of thunder for a while but no lightning to see.
Dashed out quick before the rain for a late afternoon wee wee- for the dog not me Grin

I started a thread on Friday after our storm damage. With more rain over the weekend, our bedroom ceiling is sagging nicely now.

I know where you are dawndonna! We are closest to the town which has a big duck race every summer, not the town starting with the same letter which has a castle!

Oh, and on the weather front, no rain but humid here.

I had heard you didn't get the rain, Emily.
My dcs have outgrown the duckrace, but used to love it when younger!

SE. Hideous thunder and lightening this afternoon for over two hours. Torrential rain which caused lakes to form in the fields and driveways. Horses all brought in really early as they were threatening to melt, very hairy as the lightening was forking down in the fields as we walked. Fifteen minutes after all safely in the rain went and it has turned into a nice evening.....
