OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 13:37

Back to black and the rain is starting again.

lightning showing quite nicely on IOW detector.

One day I'm going to have one of those... (in my dreams)

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 03/01/2014 13:37

I'm not surprised you can't concentrate!

Bright blue skies now. Bizarre.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 13:42

ok, after this blast of rain I'm going to attempt at least 15 mins of work.
Good job I'm self employed!

piratecat · 03/01/2014 13:43

crazy hail and lightening in Devon, flooding in coastal towns, more to come tonight and through to sunday.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 13:55

The Sunday/Monday/Tuesday storm seems a little slower but also perhaps less intense wind wise than GFS was showing yesterday. Arrives in the SW mid afternoon on Sunday, lasts right through Monday and into tuesday but gusts not exceeding 50-60mph unless we end up with convective storms like we have today.

LIZS · 03/01/2014 13:56

Just about to tip down again after blue skies . Got one fence panel hanging off to one side but can't really do much about it .

GloriaSmud · 03/01/2014 13:58

Getting quite dark here (Leicester) so think we're in for some rain this afternoon.
It shows how mild it's been ~ I saw a bumble bee flying about yesterday and had to evict another one from our hall this morning. Poor things are going to get a bit of a shock if we get any cold weather.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 14:06

It is ridiculously mild. Our heating is only coming on first thing and weve not had the woodburner on over the past couple of days.

Marne · 03/01/2014 14:11

That's the bonus with this weather, heating bills are down Grin, ours only goes on for a hour in the evening and a hour in the morning.

We keep having showers here but nothing too major.

JKSLtd · 03/01/2014 14:12

My dad is apparently out playing his usual round of golf. In Devon. In the hail. Confused

I reckon he's in the bar.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 14:13

Heating bills are down, but we've had to pay a fortune in repair bills :(

JKS, with the lightning around the bar is the safer bet for sure!

digerd · 03/01/2014 14:20

SE.
Luckily skies cleared this morning and it was sunny. At lunch-time it had clouded over and soon had thunder, lightning and pelting rain. Colder too with gusty winds. Raining now

digerd · 03/01/2014 14:25

Gas CH been on constantly from 5.30am -9.50pm with thermostat set at 20 degrees. 7 outside.

youarewinning · 03/01/2014 14:38

Was out with friends today for lunch. Could see storm heading towards us and arrived with storm force winds first and then horizontal rain. Drove home 2 hours after high tide and it was still breaching the wall and has flooded the beach car park a little. Some coastal roads shut.

We also have the looks like night, oh there's the sun combination!

LostInWales · 03/01/2014 15:06

Urgh, if it's not hailing and thundering then the sea is getting ideas above it's station. So many floods in just this county.

StripyPenguin · 03/01/2014 15:13

We are supposed to be going on a day out to Cardiff tomorrow, not sure whether to go or not now. Anybody round there at all?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 15:26

Stripy - fter some heavy rain in the morning weather wise Cardiff shouldnt be too bad tomorrow. Travel/disruption wise????

StripyPenguin · 03/01/2014 15:32

Thanks Kitten we'll go then.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 15:34

Theres a really good T-storm showing up in the channel if the IOW tracker is being accurate. Might graze the SE later.

Also I think an 'ice warning' should be issued for early Sunday morning as temps may drop to around freezing in much of central England and Wales.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 15:34

Just be prepared to take a long way round Stripy!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 15:37

OK, new met office warnings

including for snow tomorrow and wind warnings removed for Sunday.

Its a bit complicated sometimes.

magimedi · 03/01/2014 15:41

We have just had a massive thunderstorm & rain - I can now see the clearance coming in from Beachy Head way.

magimedi · 03/01/2014 15:42

Sorry - near to Eastbourne, Sussex.

It would be nice if people put a general idea of their location in when they post - even just county would be good.

Geckos48 · 03/01/2014 15:50

Here comes the snow...

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2014 15:51

Geckos, you'll be ok for a little longer :)
