Or is it not that serious Grin

Sparklingbrook · 10/02/2012 12:53

No, it all stopped pepper . Typical. Grin

lubeybooby · 10/02/2012 13:17

Hooray I have fire wood :o

Just in time for weather.co.uk to make another slightly mad prediction of -9c here for tonight.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 10/02/2012 14:03

you are welcome TeWihara :)

I dont think i really need to give out ice warnings for tonight do I, tis pretty bloody obvious it is going to be really treacherous.

lubey, thats not too mad actually.

lubeybooby · 10/02/2012 14:20

I reckon -7 again. Very very glad of the fire wood! Off to see what metoffice says...

lubeybooby · 10/02/2012 14:23

Oooh -7

seeker · 10/02/2012 14:23

I was so hopeful last night, but it's all clear and sunny here near Sittingbourne. :(

Hulababy · 10/02/2012 14:26

No snow at all in Sheffield yesterday or overnight, which I was mightly pleased with. Was rather icy this morning and the cars took some defrosting. But all fine now.

Still leaving for airport later this evening - just have to decide if it will be fine going over Snake Pass, or if we should try a longer route.

mankyscotslass · 10/02/2012 14:41

We have had very light snow on and off since about 11 - not enough to stick or wet the ground, but it looked very pretty. The kids were excited at lunchtime.

TeWihara · 10/02/2012 14:44

Having said we only had 2/3 inches that is not a small enough to not bother brushing it off the car!

Saw a 4x4 driving down my street this morning with only the windscreen cleared... even the wing mirrors and driver side windows were totally caked. HTF can anyone think it's safe to drive like that? Idiot.

MrsDeeBee · 10/02/2012 15:13

Afternoon all !

I think we had about 5cms in all so not too bad. Very dangerous underfoot in places though. Where people had gritted the snow seems to have melted, which is nice, as it means my new appliance will be here later ! Smile

Is freezing cold too. Not windy, just freezing.

Heard on a news item earlier that there may be more snow on the way by Tuesday ? Cold front staying for weekend, warms up a bit Monday, then back to possible snow ?

Although I am happy to be corrected, as whoever I listen to is usually wrong !

PigletJohn · 10/02/2012 15:54

I just checked my gas meter for the last ten day's use Sad Sad Sad

pepperrabbit · 10/02/2012 16:18

I've put a photo of my back garden all snowy this morning, on my profile if anyone is as bored as me this afternoon!
DSs arguing over computer so banished, now stropping around like teenagers.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 10/02/2012 16:32

MrsD, at the moment it does seem like wintery showers are possible for north and east (particularly over higher ground) can't see anything widespread though.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 11/02/2012 07:29

How is everyone's temperatures this morning? -12.1C here. Frozen milk once more!

QED · 11/02/2012 07:46

I think it is rather chilly in York. No official temperature but it Looks Cold Out There :)

south345 · 11/02/2012 07:52

Dp said it was -15 on way past York at 6am!

ohyouBadBadkitten · 11/02/2012 08:02

It feels almost slightly scary outside, the sort of temps that would be deadly if you were to hang around underdressed for too long.

youarekidding · 11/02/2012 08:04

-8°c here. South Hampshire. Icy this morning.

OP posts:
headfairy · 11/02/2012 08:06

-10 here in Surrey. I think that's the coldest I've ever known it. Not venturing out from under the duvet for another hour at least!

Sparklingbrook · 11/02/2012 08:23

Morning all. OYBBK that reminds me of when we were young and the milk would freeze, rise up in the bottle and push the foil lid off. No exact results here on temperature. DH says it looks 'bloody cold'. Grin

ObviouslyOblivious · 11/02/2012 08:28

-11 in north London

mankyscotslass · 11/02/2012 08:41

-1 here, not too bad. Smile

south345 · 11/02/2012 08:44

Sparkling that happened to my milk here today, there's milk all over my doorstep now! The bottle had cracked too, alm the washing in my drier was frozen solid this morning too!

Sparklingbrook · 11/02/2012 08:46

Oh south that really is cold Sad. BBC say it's -7 here. I am worrying about where all the homeless people are....
