DD just come down dressed to the nines and clutching her toboggan.

We are off!

When you say flurries in the east, could that be the south east????

youarekidding · 05/02/2012 09:08

So looks like I'll be heading up the A3 or M3 if I can be bothered later on. Grin

None here! Grin HURRAY!!!! Just the icy roads to get through later to pick up kids from grans Sad

PeneloPeePitstop · 05/02/2012 09:12

Oh go away thaw.....

OhyouBadBadkitten · 05/02/2012 09:14

damn - possibly.
That's true Gloria - but I love whizzing down the hill. Never mind I can make it all cozy at home for when they return sodden.

pigsinmud · 05/02/2012 09:25

Walked the dog in Surrey hills. Very drippy. Thawing very fast. I'm positively boiling having walked dog and cleared snow from drive for dh to go to work. Not sure it's too wet here for sledging.

Sparklingbrook · 05/02/2012 09:27

I think 'drippy' is a good description of it here too schilke. Sad

CaveMum · 05/02/2012 09:30

Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border here. Snowed overnight and we've got about 4 inches.

The cat is not impressed! She keeps looking out the window then looking at me as if to say "Well do something about it!" Grin

13 centimetres in Cambridge Grin. Ds measured it. Haven't seen it like this for a few years..

LottieJenkins · 05/02/2012 09:39

Well Bumble dog has just got a spectacular revenge for the snowball i lobbed at him last night. He surfed on his paws up the front path and shot snow right through the front door all over my bare feet and legs! Thanks Mr B!!! Hmm Wink

Pascha · 05/02/2012 09:41

Got maybe 6 or 7cm in south kent. Taking 16mo toddler out in the garden for his first play in a bit. Not thawing noticably yet but I expect it will this afternoon. I hope so, DH is going to watch ice hockey in Gillingham later so he wants it to be a bit clearer for then.

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 05/02/2012 09:43

YAK - I'd get off the M3 before you get to junction 4a, there's not much left here, all the grass is poking through. I'm going to go for a walk through it all later and have a hot chocolate/latte/wine at the pub :) but you'd be very hard pressed to make a snowman.

pepperrabbit · 05/02/2012 09:44

couple of cm here in north Hampshire, thawing fast.
The DCs are just as excited though as they would be over 3ft of snow Hmm No sense of perspective my children Smile, just about enough in the whole garden for a snow dwarf perhaps?

LIZS · 05/02/2012 09:45

12 1/2cm here (Surrey)

pepperrabbit · 05/02/2012 09:45

x-posts chipping!

Hulababy · 05/02/2012 09:47

Hoping for no more snow now - need to get to their airport next Saturday morning, so def none at the end of next week please!!!

south345 · 05/02/2012 09:48

About 3/4 inches here, ds1 was straight out , 2 (aged 2) lasted about a minute then decided it was too cold!

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 05/02/2012 09:48

How did it go last night pepper? How many of your friends made it/bailed out?

Hulababy · 05/02/2012 09:50

Was obviously windy yesterday as it snowed near my house. In some places we have about a 1cm if that, and then other arts are like mini snow drifts over over 10cm or more.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 05/02/2012 09:58

drip drip drip. 0.9C here now.
Have put some chocolate orange brownies in the oven for when the sodden return.

I like the idea of wee little snow drifts hula :)

pepperrabbit · 05/02/2012 10:00

chipping Smile I had an excellent evening in the end thanks. Just one couple bailed out, 2 couples arrived as scheduled and 1 couple that DH had categorically told me weren't coming, pitched up as well! Luckily with hostessly aplomb when i opened the door I said something welcoming like "OMG, I wasn't expecting you!" ....
They did all leave quite early but that's fine given the weather.

theITgirl · 05/02/2012 10:02

We have 6 inches here in East Herts - want some more though, because I am greedy

OhyouBadBadkitten · 05/02/2012 10:03

am glad it was a good evening pepper! sounds like it balanced out nicely in the end :)

MollieO · 05/02/2012 10:04

4-5 inches here (nr High Wycombe). Seems very wet. Ds has been playing outside since 6.30am and has just come in. Completely wet through so change of clothes and he's gone back outside! I like snow but I hope it has gone by tomorrow. I live on the top of a hill and have a rear wheel drive sports car so no driving if it is snowy/icey.
