As requested by our snow guru OYBBK heres the new thread as the other one is almost full.

And I have no idea why I'm still getting involved as we had no snow

OP posts:

Well.... James Madden (exactaweather.com) seems to think we've not seen the the end of the snow yet. He's pretty on the ball so we shall see Grin

ohyouBadBadkitten · 10/02/2012 07:45

sounds very slippery lubey.
So some areas did get what was expected then - looks like it was the central slice through England (as it looked on last nights radar) that ended up with not terribly much.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 10/02/2012 07:48

Next week - a high pressure looks set to build over us bringing north westerlies and temperatures a fair bit milder by day. Some hints though at the back end of next week of more cold weather.

NorksAreMessy · 10/02/2012 07:54

shag I am being overcautious, but if you are stranded at Fromes Hill, the offer of rum-filled hot chocolate is still on

We got another dump last night Grin

Just enough to make it all look beautiful again, but not enough to stop the buses from running - DDs were very disappointed they had to to go in to school on the last day of term.

JKSLtd · 10/02/2012 08:11

No new snow in south Essex last night.
Haven't checked the roads news but the pressure is off now we've decided to travel tomorrow.

pigleychez · 10/02/2012 08:15

Another few cm overnight here in West Sussex.

The DD's are very excited and desperate to make footprints on the way to school.

No more snow today though please. Im supposed to be having a girly night out with some friends! First time since DD1 was born... that was 3.5 years ago!!

AngryFeet · 10/02/2012 08:16

We got another couple of cm here in Croydon. Didn't really settle on the roads luckily but it has covered all the ice patches so now we will have no idea what we are walking on!

funkybuddah · 10/02/2012 08:38

About an inch in north Hampshire, kids annoyed its not more. Roads all clear .
Sun is peeking through now.

TeWihara · 10/02/2012 09:07

We only got about 4cm I reckon. I'm going to take the toddler and sledge out in a minute and see if we can have a bit of fun with it before it goes at least!

headfairy · 10/02/2012 09:16

About 2-3cm here in east Surrey, it's all very pretty on the trees etc. as I'm poorly today and it's an inset day at ds's nursery school today I'm depositing the kids and the nanny at the park with sledges and cash so they can enjoy it while it lasts. Its not that cold today so I reckon we'll get quite a bit of melt before tonight's freeze.

pepperrabbit · 10/02/2012 09:22

About 4cm here, very pretty in the sunshine, took DD to nursery and the main roads are clear and the side roads slushy. Pavement was treacherous though as the thin layer just got squashed straight into ice.
Think I'll try to get her a bit early before it freezes over again.
Boys have absolutely no interest in going out in it Hmm, even though I've said it's probably their last chance this winter.

Tortoise · 10/02/2012 09:37

Wish I had taken a photo a 4am! Not much there now, stupid rain!

Sparklingbrook · 10/02/2012 09:50

Right, we seem to have fine snow now. Confused

PigletJohn · 10/02/2012 10:03

Sunny on the South Coast now and mostly gone.

Chaotica · 10/02/2012 10:28

About 5cm here and no good for snowballs or snowpeople (have tested extensively on the way to school).

mankyscotslass · 10/02/2012 10:33

We have snow falling. Confused

Drifting down gently. Won't last.

TeWihara · 10/02/2012 10:57

We have sledged and tried to build a snowman, it's reasonably decent snow but won't do the rolly thing so a bit tricky. I am secretly pleased it's not too heavy because school was still on and it meant there were only a few little kids sledging this am.

OYBBK - thank you for all the weather chat over the last few days, hope it's been a good distraction and your meds get sorted soon.

droitwichmummy · 10/02/2012 11:13

sassy my DS goes to the First school locally beginning with C - my nephew is in 6th form at the High School though.

Central Birmingham has virtually no snow - bit of frosting on the roofs (rooves? best check with the pedants...) bit in the air but nothing troubling traffic

Sparklingbrook · 10/02/2012 11:15

Does your nephew wear a coat to school droitwichmummy? He could have a word with my DS. Grin

droitwichmummy · 10/02/2012 11:18

Sparkling I hope so! No idea though as he takes himself off in the morning. I'll ask him to look out for non-coat wearing boys and get him to laugh at them :)

Sparklingbrook · 10/02/2012 11:19

Coats not cool apparently. droitwichmummy. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 10/02/2012 11:30

Light snow here still.

Sparklingbrook · 10/02/2012 11:45

It's getting heavier. Shock
