Metmonkey are forecasting this for next week. We'll see ~ probably a bit early to say for certain whether this will happen or whether it'll just be cold and frosty.

OP posts:

No idea what the temp is but we had at least 6 inches in Northumberland this morning when we woke up, no sign of it melting and a few heavy showers throughout the day.

Totally unprepared by the way, will send dh out for essentials when he gets in from work tonight.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/11/2010 14:16

wow cherrybea - good start to winter!

CherryMonster · 25/11/2010 14:37

still nothing here, but it has clouded over quite dramatically compared to this morning (deep frost and clear blue sky at 8.30am) so i live in hope.

sherby · 25/11/2010 15:20

nothing here, it doesn't actually feel as cold as it did yesterday (colchester) Angry

sherby · 25/11/2010 15:21

MummyBerryJuice · 25/11/2010 16:18

I've been dying to come and tell you about our 8 inches over night. But... First MN would not work on my phone Sad and then we lost electricity between 10am and 4 o'clock Angry.

But finally I can tell you 8inches overnight and at least another 2 over the course of the day.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/11/2010 19:32

warnings east and west for over night.

mankyscotslass · 25/11/2010 19:59

I'm still not seeing the snow. Sad

Will it ever get here?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/11/2010 20:37

maybe tomorrow night?

winterpetunia · 25/11/2010 20:39

Leicester's not getting any snow either. Looking at all the forecasts for the weekend it's either going to be 'snowmageddon' (according to metmonkey and netweather) or freezing cold with the possibility of the odd snow shower (the Metoffice/bbc.)
I'd love it to be a Metmonkey forecast but think it's more likely to be a Metoffice one for us.

duckyfuzz · 25/11/2010 20:41

plenty up here :o

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/11/2010 20:51

Generally, if you are east coast (particularly north), Scotland, SW or Wales then you don't have to wait long for your snow (as many of you have it already!). If you are else where, be patient, enjoy any showers you get and watch out for short term developments and keep a close eye on next week.

BelleDameSansMerci · 26/11/2010 00:23

Just driven home (now midnight-ish). Temperature not below freezing all the way from Rotherham to Huddersfield but absolutely Baltic/Scandinavian wind. I haven't felt wind as cold as that since I was in New York in wind chill of -20something. I'm sure it wasn't that cold but it was biting. Fingers crossed here for NO SNOW! Smile

MummyBerryJuice · 26/11/2010 08:41

Today's picture update from North Yorkshire

I hate the bloody stuff but it is beautiful. Smile

Just a pity we're stuck. Again.

winterpetunia · 26/11/2010 09:36

MummyBerry ~ I'm Envy, that does look lovely.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/11/2010 14:46

do you have enough supplies in mummyberry or do we need to start emailing you chocolate?

mankyscotslass · 26/11/2010 14:51

I'm feeling virtous, I remembered to clean and restock the bird feeders today, and put out fresh water. THe poor birds are starving and thirsty.

Everything is frozen solid, even though there is no snow!
