Just that really.

If you are spiritual, do you get anything coming through from this photo?
Any thoughts, feelings or vibes?

Sorry… I’m an idiot, didn’t read your later post.

Nothing 'woo' from me, just a photo of a chap who looks quite serious

The whole "spiritual" woo stuff is so annoying. It's a black and white photograph of a good looking young man. Anyone with a smidgen of imagination can create a backstory for him.

KittensandPerverts · 16/08/2023 09:10

No.

Makes me wonder if he's passed.

Died you mean
Why are we so scared of the words death/dead/died

80s · 16/08/2023 09:19

Looks like he's about to cry! Lovely expressive face, quite feminine. Well-taken photo with good use of dark and light, and has his shirt open, no tie: perhaps not your average office worker type; arty or working class, or both (or trying to give that impression). No psychic powers involved in these thoughts :D

80s · 16/08/2023 09:19

Considering that he was an adult in the 1930s (from this photo), it's not a huge leap to imagine that he might be dead by now.

lovewoola · 16/08/2023 09:21

Looks a lot less like Daniel Radcliffe then I was expecting!

ShinyBandana · 16/08/2023 09:26

I feel quite disturbed by that picture. I find it sinister. It also feels like there are several other people in it too

JohnofOxford · 16/08/2023 09:27

Non English curve on the collar with the larger points I think.

tanyamcquoid · 16/08/2023 09:32

Hmmm accidental gunshot wound to the head on Salisbury Plain according to the WW2talk link above. Was it self inflicted?

Helpmepleaseimbusy · 16/08/2023 09:34

First thing - died in war

Some kind of sadness.

Couldn't say why. But a sadness or maybe loneliness?

AInightingale · 16/08/2023 10:08

It sounds like it would make the basis of a fascinating novel OP. I love books like that. Are you a writer?

I don't know much if anything about Raoul Pugh but if he was interested in Marlowe and Jonson he may also have been interested in necromancy. Was he an academic of some sort before he joined up?

SirVixofVixHall · 16/08/2023 10:17

MysteryBelle · 16/08/2023 03:34

Good job on finding that info @oakleaffy

I had no idea Pugh is Welsh. Maybe I should have had. My husband is Welsh.

Pugh is a Welsh surname, it is the anglicisation of Ap Huw (son of Huw).
He looks very Welsh to me, he actually looks a lot like a relative of mine.
When I saw the picture the thing I kept thinking of was music.

MuthaHubbard · 16/08/2023 10:19

I don't do woo/spiritual etc either

WhatInTheNameOfGodIsThis · 16/08/2023 10:20

He looks very handsome but very sad.

Possibly inflicted 'accidentally on purpose' by someone who hated gay people. There was then no justice for Raoul because it was kept hush hush.

Last photo of a young man who went to war (WW2).

Exactly what I thought.

I have a similar photo of my grandad. He looks incredibly handsome in his uniform, but he hates that photo, because he knows if he'd died, it would have been the official photo.

Seagullchippy · 16/08/2023 10:54

He was gay and was a killer, then: so quite a few guessed right!

Exactly. It's ridiculous. It's quite clearly an image that looks like WW2 uniform so hardly a leap to imagine he might have had some trauma. That's not feelings, it's basic visual cues and general knowledge

CurlewKate · 16/08/2023 11:14

Of course people get sad vibes/dead vibes from this picture. He has a thoughtful, sombre look on his face and they have seen a ton of other pictures of young men from this era! It's not being spiritual-it's being a human being.

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 16/08/2023 11:18

Im getting a feminine vibe from him and agree he looks sad.

PhantomUnicorn · 16/08/2023 11:21

another one who just felt.. sadness and something left unsaid.. like he had so much to say but didn't get the chance, or doesn't feel like anyone would listen... but that whatever he has to say would be worth hearing.
