I'll pop a link in the old one so you know where to find safe haven. I have tried to clear out some space by getting rid of the ohp and vcr trolley and gin is hidden behind the sick sand bucket.

Yeah that's a problem, Jan Grin I've got to take them three times a day and the times where I've actually got time to be taking an iron tablet are exactly the times I'm desperate for a cup of tea.

noblegiraffe · 03/06/2021 22:47

Schloer is so disappointing when what you really want is booze.

TheHoneyBadger · 03/06/2021 22:49

I'm wondering about the bread and ice diet too. Was it a typo?

JanFebAnyMonth · 03/06/2021 22:58

Am guessing it was rice not some kind of Scots diet for the colder clime Grin

noblegiraffe · 03/06/2021 23:06

Bread and rice isn't much better.

Areas with the Indian variant all seem to have kept masks in schools. The problem seems to be so localised at the moment that they are really going to struggle with national restrictions. The infection rate in the SW last week was 0% (though that might change with all the caravans on the M5 this week).

JanFebAnyMonth · 03/06/2021 23:10

Indeed noble

CarrieBlue · 03/06/2021 23:16

First death in our local nhs trust for six weeks today Sad

noblegiraffe · 03/06/2021 23:18

Let's hope it was a one-off rather than the start of anything, Carrie.

Piggywaspushed · 03/06/2021 23:22

No, ice!

noblegiraffe · 03/06/2021 23:24

You only eat bread and ice, piggy? You what???!!

JanFebAnyMonth · 03/06/2021 23:52

Well at least that means it’ll be relatively simple to improve your iron levels??

noblegiraffe · 04/06/2021 00:05

When the doctor was talking about my iron levels she asked me if I ate a normal diet and I said 'yes' although I'm not totally sure what counts as a normal diet.

I'm pretty sure piggy should be answering 'no' though.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/06/2021 01:14

Infection rate still seems to be falling in this bit of the SW, which is impressive given the number of tourists over the last 2 weeks. Might have to wait until next week to see if the tourists have caused a rise.

Taking iron tablets alongside things high in vitamin c will improve absorption. Although I’m not sure a glass of orange juice is a replacement for tea any more than schloer is a replacement for alcohol.

Made me laugh!

😂 Mother

RigaBalsam · 04/06/2021 07:17

Piggy do you have ice soup?

Piggywaspushed · 04/06/2021 07:27

I did answer no. She is funny this doctor. She laughs at everything I say.

I did discover that a desire to crunch ice all the time (this is not new . A class once gave me a bag of ice as a present when I went on maternity leave!) is a sign of anaemia.

I do eat a bit more than bread. I also eat toast.

Piggywaspushed · 04/06/2021 07:28

And crisps. Forgot those!

ChloeDecker · 04/06/2021 07:29

I needed to read that mother. Beautifully written (and given me some more ideas for certain pupils of mine in their upcoming reports Grin

MrsHerculePoirot · 04/06/2021 07:33

piggy hope they get to the bottom of whatever it is either way.

HobnobbingAboutHobnobs · 04/06/2021 07:43

😂 mother that's hilarious! Got my day off to a nice cheerful start.

HobnobbingAboutHobnobs · 04/06/2021 07:44

I was a bit anaemic in my last pregnancy - I hope I don't end up being piggys iron tablet buddy...

eitak22 · 04/06/2021 07:45

This week has gone too fast! Feeling exhausted after a 7 mile walk so going to potter around at home today.

HercwasanEnemyofEducation · 04/06/2021 07:53

piggy My SIL used to eat loads of ice and ended up with infusions due to lack of iron. Period blood loss and a crap diet took her a while to sort.

I take spatone daily after anaemic pregnancy and notice if I stop.
