I'll pop a link in the old one so you know where to find safe haven. I have tried to clear out some space by getting rid of the ohp and vcr trolley and gin is hidden behind the sick sand bucket.

So busy marking I haven’t had time to do much else other than watch Line of Duty. I have a boot camp to go to later 😁

JanFebAnyMonth · 24/05/2021 21:47

Just giving the place an airing, ensuring we still have CHAIRS, and chocolate biscuits.....

TheHoneyBadger · 24/05/2021 21:51

Oh we have five whole pages left so should be ok. The 57th has lasted a whole 3 weeks! We must be too knackered to post.

Ch-chairs? Are you sure? Is that... wise? Who knows what nefarious practices we will perform if given sufficient furniture...

It's been a while since we were in here but I'm sure there are some mini eggs stashed in a tin.

GuyFawkesDay · 24/05/2021 22:06

I might fire up the big tea urn. It takes 3 hours to get hot....

JanFebAnyMonth · 24/05/2021 22:15

piggy, don’t know if you (or anyone) has seen the post about the surge areas guidance on Data - it advises against non essential travel out of area - and the fovt releases it on Fridays but didn’t even tell the councils until today!!

So now school leaders know: the next changes to Schools guidance will be pinned up in a top floor corridor in the DfE and teachers are only going to find out about it if someone visits. Which they won’t. Cos, Covid, innit? (Pace, Bob)

JanFebAnyMonth · 24/05/2021 22:15

*released it on Friday

JanFebAnyMonth · 24/05/2021 22:28

Apparently sequenced cases of the IV have trebled in the last week 😢

noblegiraffe · 24/05/2021 22:42

“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”

TheHoneyBadger · 24/05/2021 22:59

I think you're funnier in the broom closet Noble. Must be the fumes from industrial cleaning products.

Turn the tea urn off. New republic ready.

All notices are pinned underneath a dusty corner desk in a very very tiny triple-locked high-security office in the top floor corridor in the DfE. Not even Gav The Muppet knows of its existence.

StaffRepFeistyClub · 24/05/2021 23:08

@TheHoneyBadger

Turn the tea urn off. New republic ready.
lol
MrsHamlet · 03/06/2021 21:28

I've flicked the duster round and popped the urn on. And stocked up the ice for the gin/pimms...

JanFebAnyMonth · 03/06/2021 21:44

I’ll bring my stock of dried apricots for piggy, noble and all other anaemics. I’ve eaten since second pregnancy when my iron levels got a bit low!

borntobequiet · 03/06/2021 21:51

I’m sure it’s not good for the tea urn to be turned off and on and never used in such an unfeeling manner. It may well spring a leak or worse still blow up.

HarrietDVane · 03/06/2021 21:51

Nothing helpful to share, I'm afraid. Foolishly decided to pop into school first thing to do one or two bits and then failed to emerge for nearly six hours. Whoever it was that said, way up thread, that teachers would end up planning, resourcing and assessing work for 'intervention tutors' was spot on.

Piggywaspushed · 03/06/2021 21:52

There is iron deficiency anaemia , common in women worrying in men. First sign that DH was seriously ill years ago was anaemia. Also pernicious anaemia ( nasty)and folate anaemia due to lack of folic acid. I have one and three. Three almost certainly because I only eat bread and ice and never eat meat.

Piggywaspushed · 03/06/2021 21:54

Apricots upset my stomach but I do like them.

MrsHamlet · 03/06/2021 21:59

We can always hide from the angry hordes in here. If we shift all the unmarked marking in front of the door, they'll never find us.

borntobequiet · 03/06/2021 22:05

Or a notice on the door No Entry Critically Unstable Tea Urn

HobnobbingAboutHobnobs · 03/06/2021 22:31

Toddler and I went to Bristol Zoo today with my sister and nephew. Lovely day, but I'm so knackered now!

noblegiraffe · 03/06/2021 22:36

I only eat bread and ice

One of your famous typos surely?

Oh I've got the mundane iron one then, I thought anaemia was always iron. They don't know why, I'm a bit worried that they're going to tell me to drink less tea. I read that it affects iron absorption and my blood is probably about 95% tea.

JanFebAnyMonth · 03/06/2021 22:41

Iirc as long as you don’t drink tea within half an hour of iron intake it doesn’t affect absorption?

MrsHamlet · 03/06/2021 22:43

Oooh, hobnobs I used to go there with granny and grandad. My favourites were apparently the okapi.
