You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give ‘The Every twat for Themselves mob’ the staffroom password as a number of them are operating in an alternative reality.

No DfE muppets allowed

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom. Close the door quietly on your way out

Thanks Staff. Checking in. New bottle of Riga, Vodka and strawberries for my diet. Hmm

CallmeAngelina · 25/08/2020 18:31

Yoohoo! Only me!
Of course, "actual" staff rooms are no longer allowed. Socialising and all that.

RubyViolet · 25/08/2020 18:32

Checking in and waiting for the big one. The U-turn on the scheduling rota, it’s coming.

ChloeDecker · 25/08/2020 18:33

Thank you Staff!!

TfL are putting up these posters. So so worrying. Secondary school children don’t even need to socially distance in their way to and from school either...

WhyNotMe40 · 25/08/2020 18:35

Reporting in! In my social distancing zorb ball Grin

BelleSausage · 25/08/2020 18:38

Evening! Here for the twilight session on WTF is going on.

I’ve been avoiding this place and the news. I read Boris’ crap yesterday morning and felt the yawning abyss opening beneath me. Well done for staying to fight on!

bloody hell! so we are going to have kids going to different schools shoved onto the same buses filled to capacity. It's okay though as the general public will SD on non-school buses.
OP posts:
hedgehogger1 · 25/08/2020 18:42

They can send their kids off on the first bus while they wait for the next "safe" one

hedgehogger1 · 25/08/2020 18:44

Although just a thought. To improve capacity, as kids don't spread it. Should we not alternate kid-adult seats. The kids could act as a COVID barrier between the adults

Marking in Smile

Danglingmod · 25/08/2020 18:47

Trains, too. Kids all going to different schools in each town. It's a total joke.

MrsHamlet · 25/08/2020 18:49

We have 200+ kids who come on one train in the morning. It's like sardines at the best of times - BTP often have to come and stand about ineffectually whilst we organise them. The public hate it, but it's a bit tricky to ask them to walk down an A road or catch a public or school bus that doesn't exist.

phlebasconsidered · 25/08/2020 18:50

I went into town and bought some lovely local gin and had a coffee with my friend. I love my local distillery - I have 3 bottles of lovely flavoured gins to see me through ....er. . . Probably 2 weeks in? Given the way things are going.

MrsHamlet · 25/08/2020 18:53

Local gin sounds good to me. A colleague gave me 6 bottles of unwanted gin last term. I didn't know there was such a thing!!
@BelleSausage bravo! You gave it with both barrels over on the other thread. Some people disgust me.

cheesecurdsandgravy · 25/08/2020 18:58

Here miss.

MrsHamlet · 25/08/2020 19:04

Are we allowing redundant HR officers in the staffroom?

phlebasconsidered · 25/08/2020 19:04

Just reading about the BTEC results. Not much media on it because it's BTEC but those poor students. I'm incensed on their behalf. They already get the shitty end of the stick with funding and course access and now this.

cheesecurdsandgravy · 25/08/2020 19:05

WTF on that teachers should be beyond saintly thread - urgh. I’m not going out again. Once they put the locks on the staff room I’ll be safe in here.

Appuskidu · 25/08/2020 19:08

Thanks for the new thread. I’m in for the gin-think it’s going to be a long half term.

motherrunner · 25/08/2020 19:11

Signing in 👋

@StaffAssociationRepresentative Love how you asked Clav about the TfL notice. Maybe we should just keep on bombarding her with guidance and updates 😆

CarrieBlue · 25/08/2020 19:12

I’ve just put some plum brandy to steep in the garage - do you think it’ll be ready before school closes?

BelleSausage · 25/08/2020 19:12

@MrsHamlet

Why thank you! curtsies

I’ve been saving that up for a few days. Feels good to get it out!

Not if you keep sneaking in to check on it!!
