You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. Baiters and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are not staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here only if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

As we are not allowed to put flowers up can we just mass report this thread

Appuskidu · 11/05/2020 19:50

I have reported it-it was vile.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/05/2020 19:52

It’s all a big joke surely? You have to clean, teach in the classroom and online learning and somehow teleport kids to school oh and teach twice the number of groups with the same number of teachers and rooms and don’t forget they all have to be offered hot dinners on staggered lunch breaks?!?!

It just has to be a joke

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2020 19:54

I am mass ignoring that thread : it is not worth it.

FlamingoAndJohn · 11/05/2020 19:54

Are we not allowed to put up flowers? Who said?

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 11/05/2020 19:55

If I was at the dfe I would be ashamed of that going out. Why should Education be so different from all the other advice?

However it does say ....
Where the child, young person or staff member tests positive, the rest of their class or group within their childcare or education setting should be sent home and advised to self-isolate for 14 days.

OP posts:
Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2020 19:55

The bus companies have to put more buses on, it seems. Which puts even more bus drivers at risk.

MossWalk · 11/05/2020 19:56

Please let the unions get on this.

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2020 19:57

flamingo the ever delightful and polite chloe had a post deleted that had only flowers (OK lots of flowers) in it. It seems MNHQ must have agreed that it was Spam, even though it does not fit their own definition.

RigaBalsam · 11/05/2020 19:57

I didn't hear a teacher question?

A primary teacher Natasha asked why she could see her class but not her family.

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2020 19:58

Yes, OP, hence the keep them all in the same classes thing, you see....

DreamingofBrie · 11/05/2020 19:58

I'm a member of the NEU - no email but a text to the survey today, will fill it in later.

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2020 19:59

Did the briefing run on longer on the news channel riga? Fiona interrupted Boris on BBC1

FrippEnos · 11/05/2020 20:00

FlamingoAndJohn

It upsets the goady baiters.

And we can't have that.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/05/2020 20:02

Thread deleted with a piss poor comment from mn.

Whitestick · 11/05/2020 20:02

I'm happy to flower the shit out of it. I doubt mumsnet would delete me and let such a shamelessly goady OP stand.

RigaBalsam · 11/05/2020 20:02

No it was quite early on. I watched on sky though.

FrippEnos · 11/05/2020 20:03

Piggywaspushed

But they have put up screens and allowed entrance and exit from the middle and back of the bus and can wear masks.

reefedsail · 11/05/2020 20:03

Classes of 15 until they want to 'welcome back' the rest of them, then they will dump 'revisit' that advice.

Whitestick · 11/05/2020 20:04

I don't even have a deletion message for that thread, it has disappeared from my TIO . Weird

FrippEnos · 11/05/2020 20:04

From this point I am just going to report every goady post and not just the overall thread.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/05/2020 20:05

If the unions don’t act massively on this they might as well not exist. How could you treat teachers worse? It’s not safe to have a haircut but being crammed in a building with children from hundreds of different households is fine. I keep thinking it’s a joke

nellodee · 11/05/2020 20:06

I will be wearing a face mask, I will be washing hands & using hand gel, I will not be handing out pens etc, I will only accept work uploaded to Microsoft Teams

This.

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2020 20:06

I really doubt school buses will get all that fripp.

Bus drivers are dying in horrific numbers. It's tragic.

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2020 20:06

So, what am I to do about my allergic reactions to hand gel??? WAILS.
