Oh dear, Lorraine Kelly on GMTV just said what we’re all thinking, Megain Markles new advent calendar is ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣 £112 for teeny tiny chocolates …. Let’s see if she causes another fuss to ITV bosses 😂😂😂

Lorraine Kelly questioning the Duchess of Sussex?!
The bosses at itv won't put up with that.
Watch your back, Lorraine!

I must be the only one who likes the look of the advent calendar, especially this IG post where the windows light up. But I am a sucker for all things Christmas and fairy lights. Packaging 1: Contents 0.

How much would you pay for it though? Would you pick it up from the middle aisle in Aldi?

Cocolapew · Yesterday 09:09

Yum, flower sprinkles chocolate.
Probably has the same texture as when I drop my Dairy Milk square on the floor and it gets covered in dog hair.

Does anyone really think of M nowadays as an actress?

Yes, but not a stage, film, or TV one . . . .

I thought this was part of unMegxit 2.0, she was in talks for The Gentlemen wasn't she? According to the Beeb, although recollections may vary, as ever

I saw a clip of Romesh Ranganathan asking Ray Winstone what he thought about the rumour that Meghan was joining the cast. First Ray said “Oo?” And then on further explanation - “what, in The Gentlemen? Fuck off!”

Maybe Eugenie is feeling the pinch! Or maybe she gave it away? 😂
Shame. The Yorks and the Sussexes have always been such good friends.

Perhaps an eagle eyed person spotted it in a charity shop! Kudos to them, if I was on an episode of Bargain Hunter or whatever it is, a copy of The Bench, even with author's signature, isn't the item I would expect to be my winning find.

Fleet Street
You lose a court case, forfeit £2m and skip a turn

Pall Mall
Give another player an extra sausage, skip a turn

I do like @Styleinabeyance's idea of a Megopoly game but I think one of the pieces from the original Monopoly set should be included = an iron.

£12.50 but only if it was battery powered and the lights did actually twinkle at the flick of a switch. It is a perfect middle aisle item. You’ve found its place ✔️

Yes, ITV presenters are well known for brown-nosing HAM at every opportunity, Lorraine maybe didn't get that memo!

But there's nothing about it that says Christmas! Though of course it's sold as a "Holiday" calendar. So why bother putting Christmas decorations on the house, or a huge Christmas tree in front of it. 🤷‍♀️

(A lot of big beautiful house type Advent calendars will have a huge red bow or wreath hanging from every window for instance. Something I've seen in real life passing through an affluent village. Did look lovely but wow - it certainly sends a certain message!)

Oh my god, did you see it when GMB headlined with HaMs security concerns and the "journalist" was Chris Ship? 🤣
Ranvir Singh did have to explain in the end that all the evidence came from..... Harry. 🙄

Aprilfountain · Yesterday 09:57

Yes I did, another one of their ridiculous attempts to get what they want from Ravec. 🥱

No idea of the veracity of this but there’s a copy of The Bench signed by Meghan dedicated to Eugenie going on eBay for £19,999!

Someone in the comments has done a handwriting analysis..rather spot on I'd say.

Meghan’s handwriting is interesting. It shows someone who pulls those close to her even closer, yet who distances herself from those outside her circle. Her signature is illegible, as opposed to her handwriting, showing that there’s a difference between her public persona and her private persona. The rigid baseline shows extreme stress and uptightness.

So transparent.
"So, Chris, this security assessment has come from Prince Harry's private security team?"
"Yes".

I am pro-Royal Family and not a fan of Harry and Meghan. But just for general interest: according to this writer and researcher, the saying ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb’ first appeared publicly in the 1990s, whereas the saying ’Blood is thicker than water’ is in a collection of proverbs published in 1737 (and Walter Scott quoted it in 1815).

Also isn't "Eug" just the most awful nickname/contraction of her actual name. Could be unkind Cockney rhyming slang I suppose.
It's extraordinary how even the shortest name, often chosen by parents intent on choosing a name that can't be shortened still does.
I'm trying to remember the actual name of someone who told me he was normally called "Jurr". Or maybe "Jerr". More "Juuurrr".
It can't have been Jeremy, he wasn't a Jeremy sort, but something short beginning with J that one wouldn't expect to be contracted. Could almost do for Jack. Eug and Jurr. Lovely.

He is Henry VIII though so loyal to the crown, as ever.

Well, that's as maybe; the point is that the poster never clarified the context nor explained her point, in spite of being asked to. She/he/they could easily have explained what they meant in the context of the thread. It wasn't really about being pro or anti anything.
Just a non sequitur.

BunnyBunbunbun · Yesterday 08:50

Precisely. Attending the premiere of a high-profile British-made film is part of William's long-standing relationship with the British film industry.

While William is President of BAFTA, this event wasn't directly related to that role.

It was the 73rd Royal Film Performance in aid of the Film and TV Charity, one of their biggest annual fundraisers. Different members of the Royal Family attend each year.

OMG this would be so brilliant. A bit niche to be sure, I'm not sure how much interest or ability to understand the jokes is out there in the wild. If only someone could manufacture a few sets we could have a Christmas meet up at a posh pub in the Cotswolds to play the game and have a few 🍷

There could be one hotel that is a bit smaller because it only has very small rooms and rent is half the others. Maybe a Chance card - swap one hotel for the half price one with small rooms.
