Is like to see more video of his school visit. He came across a very disconnected from the teens and they seemed pretty disinterested in him. I'm surprised as I would have thought Harry would be better at this type of visit.

But of a contrast with the video of the teens spotting William in his car.

Am I the only person who can hear the kid saying "fuck off" under his breath after "there are 6 cameras in my face"? Is this actually a real clip?

The thing is, you can't fool teenagers. Anyone fake they can spot a mile off and they're not impressed by people who pretend to be "down with the kids".

When I saw him floundering in that video, I thought of when he visited my friend’s school in about 2016 and when he left, he said ‘good luck calming the kids down this afternoon’. He was popular then but I thought ‘he’s a bit up himself’. Now, ten years later, the kids don’t give him a second glance.

He does seem to think that his mere presence is enough. He doesn't seem to adapt to the situation he is in or try to connect. Maybe at Invictus events but elsewhere he seems to flounder a bit.

Why was he visiting a school out of interest?

Invictus have come up with some ‘initiative’ to be taught in schools.

I'm guessing when he was a working Royal he had staff doing all the hard yards in terms of preparation and briefing. He had all the arrangements made for him and all he had to do was step in a car and be handed his notes. The engagements were chosen for him and all the contact was done by someone else. He wouldn't have to think about anything except putting the clothes on laid out for him and getting in a car.

It's an entirely different matter now. He has to do most of the contact himself I am guessing, does no preparation if it's something he knows little about, there are no relationships formed beforehand with staff. So he turns up looking a bit scruffy, bumbles around being inappropriate at times and then shoots off. He feels more comfortable with military events because there is some kind of connection, but really he has no common interests or experiences with ordinary people so doesn't know what to say. He doesn't know anything about workplace culture, the concerns of ordinary people or even the struggles that charities have. So the only reason he is there is because he's the son of the King. He doesn't have anything else to offer. Many people now just don't care about Royalty, they are an irrelevance. Adults below forty hardly know who they are and don't give them a second thought.

The hardest working Royals do a lot of prep behind the scenes, really learn their brief and have a genuine interest in what they are doing. He has no interest in anything beyond his own shallow concerns. It's a sad and pathetic life to lead really. The other thing is that before he met Meghan he was only doing military type stuff, nothing else. It was only when he got engaged and then married that he was thrust into the glare of the bulbs and expected to step up. He couldn't hack it, and neither could she. That's fair enough, but to return to the UK after what he's done and said and expect to pick up where he left off is incredibly short sighted and arrogant. He only has his arrogance to sustain him now.

Oh my God that's just so embarrassing. What on earth is going on? He's trying to dominate the space with his ridiculous behaviour and it just looks AWFUL.

He thinks he can pick up where he left off, when he was most successful and popular.

I think you have put your finger on the difference. He really needs a supportive structure around him and he doesn't have it anymore. Plus I think the "young couple" narrative did a lot of work excusing things and that just isn't working now

That's not quite true, I don't think, @Fondmemories. He did some stuff jointly with W&C, such as Heads Together, and he also did solo royal tours, like the one to Jamaica - remember him pretending to race Usain Bolt?

Ah yes, you are right. There were some other events, but mostly he focused on his military stuff.

Why do they think a confessed drug-user, who hasn't changed his ways, should be going into schools anyway?
