Could someone please explain to me how Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK will work out.
They’re very unpopular with the British public.
Unless Doria moves over to the UK, Meghan has no family support.
Harry has burned so many bridges with his family.
His friends, those that are remaining, will have to choose between supporting Harry or supporting William and apparently they have had quite a aristocratic friends in common.
William will be the King so I presume he will be supported by many of those mutual friends.
Will the first cousins, George, Charlotte, Louis, Archie and Lilibet ever meet up ?
Apart from probably funerals.

The mayhem has begun and they haven't even arrived in the UK yet. It feels very chaotic.

First, they're returning to the UK. Then they're coming for a year. Or maybe six months. Meghan will be making frequent trips back to Montecito. They're bringing their dogs. But not their chickens. Meghan has an acting part in a Guy Ritchie TV series. Discussions are at an advanced stage. Discussions are at a very early stage. There is no role for Meghan. There never was. The role has been withdrawn.

The seeds for all these stories were sown by the Sussexes themselves. But all of it is obfuscation for the real reason they're returning - a prelude to divorce, Harry about to be deported for lying on his US visa application, taxation benefits, we don't know and may never know.

If the royals are wise and the courtiers sensible, they'll keep their distance. The audacity of the two of them, after the Oprah lies, Meghan's Netflix curtsey and Spare's betrayals is is breath-taking.

Should add - that’s such a weird take! So…let me get this right…you would only be made miserable if someone did something to affect YOUR family? So, no issue with tragedies across history or across the world, or bad behaviour affecting other people?

I am assuming that they are already separated, that this is mostly Harry’s doing, that Meghan can no longer control him, and he is facing a real existential crisis with his living arrangements, finances, court case costs and charity crises.

He wants to wind the clock back about 7 years. Not happening though.

I do wonder if his mental health is crashing and think that people close to him should be very careful for his safety and their own.

I suspect that’s right. If they were planning a separation this might be the considered way to do it. Although I can’t believe that Meghan would go back to the US for any length of time, leaving the children in the UK - and they can hardly be shuttled backwards and forwards across the Atlantic. Neither can I see her settling in Salty Island without Harry to piggy-back on, or cling to - however you view their relationship.

Unfortunately the media will have a field day and it will be horrible for the children.

Thats why its plural International Bases, some other base in Europe, probably Portugal.

Easy enough to go back and forward between there and the south of England.

I agree. I think there were some rumours recently that MM had expressed her concern for his MH to the RF? Not sure where I came across that.

I don’t believe they can afford to run Montechito (mortgage, local taxes, maintenance) and security for MM as well as expensive rental estate in the Cotswolds and futher security in UK. Monteshitshow will be sold privately in the coming months IMHO.

I said this months ago - MM is doing a return to sender. She wants her defective, troubled STBXH out of her life in Cali - so is enmeshing him in to his culture and community where he will be distracted and supported when the shit hits the fan and his character is assignated with Sentebale.

Maybe even the kids going to school in the UK is only temporary so that when MM takes them back to Cali at the end of the school year to a new home in Cali they will be comfortable and familiar with where their Dad lives. Or maybe she will leave them there to board indefinitely. I suspect that she has done the math that for her own future marketability she needs some royal glitter and if her DCs are dripping in it having been immersed in British life and her XH is still toffing and royaling about that’s more than she’s getting with them all out barefoot in Cali.

It's only Charles that has a role as Head of State and that's largely ceremonial. The rest of them are just a bunch of freeloaders! I just think the minutiae of their private lives is pretty dull and doesn't effect the majority of people's lives.

I agree. The plural bit gives the game away - why would you need to run a collapsing online UPF and tat business that only sells to the US out of Portugal - unless there is another international base which is more relevant?

Kids come to Cali for the long school holidays but go to Portugal for half terms to stay with their Mum. She will probably drop in to see them in the Cotswolds for a week each month.

But IMHO this announcement is stating and explaining that she will not be seen in UK to get ahead of the inevitable and relentless ‘where's Meg’ media speculation.

Its bizarre how someone only last month declared they were strutting into the UK to support and accompany her DH on a range of public and private events - to then overnight decide not to come and then to attend 45 mins with her FIL and describe that weeks later as having left her feeling ‘humiliated and sidelined’ - to a then a few weeks later decide this is a fabulous place to uproot her whole family to and enrol her DCs in school - doesn’t add up. Unless she ain’t coming (only to settle her DCs in school) but will shuttle back and forth across The Atlantic.

I believe the pulling out of the July public events came when ANL was known as she was happy to let PH stand in his own shit - and this is what’s happening now with ANL + Sentebale + Africa Parks + the onslaught from DM once they have rinse all the above. Also his outrageous and volatile behaviour to the judge. He’s on a ranting declining existential crisis where his personality will be assassinated and she wants no part of it. Surprised shes leaving her kids in that mire but she’s probably calculated that she will benefit reputationally and financially from that arrangement.

IMO I don’t think this is a “move back”.

They both did. It's not an either or. We don't have to take sides here. Both boys deserve our compassion.

@Oeufff totally agree, the Portugal thing is somewhere to be in half terms or maybe even the odd weekend.

On another thread it was pointed out Megs mum was absent for much of her childhood. So she might not think it's that bad to be away from her kids.

I also think H will be keen they built relationships with Pa.
Imagine growing up knowing Pa has castles and your never invited.

Serious news does affect me a lot, yes. I limit my exposure to the BBC website and don’t watch TV news any more.

This came as a shock and I groaned at the tight of all the HAM’s petty dramas coming 4K mikes closer to irritate the individuals they’ve already hurt (RF) and wind me up every time I walk past a newspaper rack.

We don’t need it in the UK, which they left saying how much they hated it.

Sadly I fear you might be right. I’m often surprised at how short people “s memories are…or maybe they think HAM’s behaviour was OK, which is pretty worrying!

I’m not advocating booing, I just hope they don’t do public appearances and that, if they do, they get a cool reception.

But William gets forgotten. He was Diana’s grieving son too.
