Are the bets on or off for an invite to Balmoral?
Will Meghan bake a humble pie for Catherine?
Let’s discuss……!

Remember the CUT article in which Meg tells us that she has a problem with sending her kids to UK schools because they would be followed by the press and she’s such a good mum because she won’t do that?!

Now the BBC:

‘I am told that this move is not due to any problems in the US. It has been driven by the couple's desire to spend time in Europe, nearer Harry's family and wanting to educate their children in the UK.’

Now the my WANT to educate their kids in a country where the press will take pap shots of their kids at school?!

So much of their lies will be exposed in this move.

Also it’s clear that the sudden and rash decision to leave must mean there’s a major problem in the US

WTF did I just wake up to?!!!

we get a lot of crap for the RF threads…::but we work out bloody everything!!!!!

Weve ALL said for months:

  • As ever is over- she was phoning it in
  • They couldn’t afford the McMansion, it was dated and they couldn’t afford to refirb
  • That they wouldn’t be able to afford the lifestyle and security costs
  • That Harry has no friends there etc
  • That they were in serious financial trouble when the Foundation shutting down etc

Clearly there’s SOMETHING else going on to return to racist Britain though!

I still think it’s such a speedy u turn that Harry’s visa must be a factor. Although I do think they have realised that they can’t support themselves forever - too many legal costs! - and they need to build bridges somehow with William or they will be out in the cold forever once Charles isn’t around.

I wonder if they will wander around with bare feet like they do when living their best life in California?
Does Harry have any friends left? Haven't they all drifted over to William?

Friends and relatives will pick a side and it is highly likely it will be the future King .
Eugenie will have a bit of a dilemma.

The twerking video and the clip of Harry slapping the lifeguard's bottom need to be shown on a loop.

and the slot on Craig Ferguson - squirming about in a tiny dress, inviting him to a slumber party, saying she was on her dad’s set after school for 10 years when her dad was “DP” - no sign whatsoever that she had reason to drop him like a stone in the future.

also, I keep picturing them getting the kids’ feet measured in the rich version of Clarkes for fitted fitted shoes, not to mention wellies for winter!

Cocolapew · 20/08/2026 07:15

When pp talk anout Harry's visa, is it up for renewal? I presume he doesn't think he'd get it?

AutumnCrowsMusings · 20/08/2026 07:18

Here’s my possible scenario. This is a divorce, and Meghan simply does not have the financial or legal (metaphorical) firepower to compete with the BRF. I always knew Harry would turn out to be a massive shit to her as well as everyone else.

Meg needs, mostly, money and a house at this stage and to salvage what’s left of her ‘reputation’. Some sort of face-saving scenario, ie winding the marriage down slowly in public so she stays vaguely ‘royal’ longer. I think she’s getting the Montecito house and will have the children in the school holidays if she wants them, but will be required to not merch them.

William has done well to stay right out of it. I think the MIGS are playing it so that once the Sussexes are more obviously separated and it gets dirty in PR terms, it’ll be Sussex v Sussex. A Sussex mess. A hungry ANL/Mail with plenty to say who may or may be placated by Palace PR and/or a Harry ‘mental health crisis’. Harry the lighting rod for gossip, but also on a last chance to sort himself out with some MIGS-style help.

Megxit undone. Meg back in her box. She may even find herself with UK visa problems. She FA and FO.

And William aloof from it all.

Choux · 20/08/2026 07:19

Where are they living that has been arranged so quickly? Are they using a cottage at Althrop while they get things sorted more permanently? But unless they stay around that area the kids would then have to change schools later.

Let’s not forget that Bea and Eugenie are not working royals but they do each have a royal London base. Bea has an apartment at St James Palace and Eugenie has Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace. So the precedent is there for HAM to get a ‘royal’ home. And Royal Lodge is currently empty - hahahaha!!!

Baital · 20/08/2026 07:26

Goodness me!

But the racism, the out of control press, the desperate flight to freedom...!

Meghan will be sobbing on the floor again and the children will need to wear shoes 😮

AutumnCrowsMusings · 20/08/2026 07:26

A&L are too young for boarding school so H&M must have places at a day school within a reasonable travel distance.

There are plenty of private schools in the primary phase with spare places at the moment (whole VAT on fees saga: see MN passim). So Harry they could be living anywhere.

AtIusvue · 20/08/2026 07:31

It says it’s a house near Althorp …so I’m guessing it’s on the estate for something to be arranged so quickly…and won’t cost them much.

Theres zero reason to rip your kids out of school, abandon your production business and jam business….Because you want you spend more time with family in the UK?
Then visit more often. You don’t move your entire family and life!

It makes zero sense. It’s either visa issues. Money issues or marriage issues. Or all three.

I think it’s all three, @AtIusvue, yes, when you put it like that. I wonder if the RF are also sheltering him from the incoming onslaught from ANL because ‘fragile’?

Edited to be less stupid

Beesandhoney123 · 20/08/2026 07:37

Visa, although given the slavish devotion of the US president to the older Royal family, am sure he could have fixed it if asked.

No one belives all that crap about spending time in Europe or Portugal Unless M will eventually set up her home outside the UK.

I hope the stress of them returning doesnt affect anyones health in the RF, and is Markus coming as well?
.

AtIusvue · 20/08/2026 07:38

Or a mental health crisis for Harry. Otherwise I can’t see why on earth Meg would want to come back.

shockthemonkey · 20/08/2026 07:39

Love it - is Marcus coming 😂

I think that was floated about as the reason why Meg ‘reached out’ to Charles prior to the Highgrove meeting, @AtIusvue. I definitely read it somewhere.

I heard it on radio 4 . They said a house just outside London. Where has Althorp been mentioned? Why would they want to live in Northhamptonshire?

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 20/08/2026 07:49

Right trying to fill this one, although I've moved over to the other.

How will M get through the winter ?

It really is the worst time to come for a Cali person.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 20/08/2026 07:50

I think the only reason is money - with money the other issues can be solved.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 20/08/2026 07:52

Does moving out of California change the rules on divorce - something about having to be married for ten years? Would they now get a British divorce?

MrsLeonFarrell · 20/08/2026 06:22

I can't catch up on 6 pages on this may have anyway been said, if so apologies.

A move back here will probably help Harry, who I think was struggling with living permanently abroad. The children will benefit from being at school here where they don't need to do shooter drills. I'm not sure how easy Meghan will find it though. The problem with marrying someone from another country is that often, not always, there is one person who feels uncomfortable because they aren't in their home country. I hope Harry gets to heal the rift with his Dad and sees that an apology is due.

Having said all that though, what a waste of goodwill and money the last 6 year's have been. Surely even the most inward looking couple must be asking themselves what it was all for. All that stress, all the lies and exaggerations, all the conflict, for what? To move back as private citizens without real jobs or much to do all day. It's very very sad.

Glad that the palace are making it clear that nothing from their end has changed.

Usually the party who has left home has inevitable regrets about being absent from family and friends, especially if it is long distance. A colleague from New Zealand has been going back as often as possible to see her Dad who has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and now needs to go into a home.
But Meghan doesn’t have these problems. No worries about her family, no missing their company. And not too many friends either I should think. Still it’s going to be a lonely old life for her here.

Claregalway · 20/08/2026 07:57

I believe IG are funding this as a huge last ditch PR sponsorship fundraising effort - maxing out royal adjacency.

And we will see them at the Sandringham walk. Face reveal in cutesy English school uniforms. A year or merching the kids as very English to a US market.

I suspect MM’s ulterior motive is to settle PH back in Salty Island in the bosom of his friends and family and then after a year (2028 is her Kerr-ching 10 year divorce pay out in Cali) return to US with DCs citing irreconcilable differences and divorce him.

Yes this weather (which I personally have been loving though of course it’s been dreadful for farmers and wildlife etc as well as people who don’t live in a normally cold and dark old cottage like I do), but this weather will break soon and then we’ll have non stop rain for the next six months. Quite the change from sunny California.

When I opened my laptop and saw 200+ new comments I knew something must be up with our Dook and Dookess!

But I hadn't expected this!

And seems it's true, doesn't it? I mean, 'People' is their favoured outlet, so I don't think they'd post it unless they got it from the Sussexes themselves.

Not much time to catch up now as work calls but... wowzers!
