Are the bets on or off for an invite to Balmoral?
Will Meghan bake a humble pie for Catherine?
Let’s discuss……!

This from the People article (thank you @Mylovelygreendress )

"Those close to Harry believe his recent visit to Britain reflects his conviction that the more the public interacts with Meghan, the more they appreciate her. During his visit to Birmingham, where he carried out charity engagements and promoted the Invictus Games, Harry was heartened by the public interest in his wife." We shall see.

Hold fast William. Otherwise we're going to need King Arthur - Britain is in peril. 😂

ETA - @MargaretThursday I think you could be right - it would not surprise me if ANL costs published tomorrow.

GB News now showing the twerking video...

The twerking video and the clip of Harry slapping the lifeguard's bottom need to be shown on a loop.

bluegreygreen · 19/08/2026 23:28

The visit to Birmingham where no-one saw his wife??

It says they are moving back for an 'extended period' not forever. I reckon visa issues that need sorting and KC's illness and life span.

They can't mess the kids about constantly relocating. They need to pick a country and stick to it.

BreadInCaptivity · 19/08/2026 23:29

I think they’ve simply run out of other options and the visa and ANL costs are the nail in the coffin for the American “A list” dream that they can no longer afford.

I think the house in Montecito will be sold in short order, despite what is being reported presently.

The report in the Hollywood Reporter about them burning their bridges with US power brokers was pretty damming and add to that some pretty hefty bills on the horizon the only way to salvage anything at all from this mess was to move back to the UK and spin it as a choice based narrative.

At least in the UK they can maintain a veneer of “success” and I’m pretty sure they will be lobbying to come back to the fold as working Royals as well as attending family events.

Going to be a tough situation for W&C especially to navigate.

DaisyDooley · 19/08/2026 23:29

I think they are coming back so we have to pay for their security.
If that’s the case, this will not end well as it will go down like a lead balloon.
The government have released a statement on security too .

Well, quite. Assume the kids have friends in the US already. According to H, they'll have royal roles anyway 🤔

The Cotswolds is being rumoured, I bet Victoria Beckham won’t be impressed.

Maybe H has been watching Rivals and is thinking he's going to be the next Rupert Campbell-Black, merrily knobbing his way through a sea of willing Cotswold totty?

Bonus points if someone's given him the Jilly Cooper Polo book as well, preferably with all the rudey bits marked out with little Post-It notes. No wonder he's excited.

Why would UK have to pay for their security if they are not working Royals? Security is not a concern for HAM, its only ever about the optics

Lancrelady80 · 19/08/2026 23:33

Long term lurker here. What a fabulous effort at upstaging photos of George's first day at Eton, and what a way to reveal A & L's faces, which have kept so carefully under wraps, at the exact same time. Whilst also proving M's point about the pushy, scary paparazzi and how impossible it is to do the school run / for the children to live normal lives - ignoring the fact they've caused it all! Then we get Victimgate all over again, with M running back to US claiming she tried everything for H, with kids if she wants, or leaving them here if she doesn't because it's so traumatic to unsettle them - what a good mum!

And they have just conveniently given the press this advance notice to allow them to track down the school and be ready on the day.

I hope the press don't fall for it and it's tumbleweed at the schoolgates!

Guest385 · 19/08/2026 23:34

OMG what the heck. On holiday and managing to miss all the fun, but got a news alert about HAM moving back to the UK! Guessing the money has run out, back to Pa to pay the bills.

BasiliskStare · 19/08/2026 23:35

Oh well - there goes the neighbourhood.

ShamedBySiri · 19/08/2026 23:36

Also if they are still here next summer Wimbledon had better not make any concessions to either of them. No Royal box the non working royals and no clearing of seats, and especially no visit on the same day as Catherine.

Starryfifty · 19/08/2026 23:41

Can Harry still work as Chief Impact officer for Better Up from the UK ?

Well in theory the situation will change because as stands he has a bespoke arrangement with RAVEC where security is assessed (with notice) for each visit.

If they are living here that bespoke arrangement itself will need to be re-assessed and my expectation is that H will demand and expect what he had prior to them leaving.

His problem is the world has moved on and it seems the Palace has already made clear they will not be working royals - but I doubt H will see it that way and per my post above I expect heavy lobbying to be brought back into the fold.

The irony here is that they will come back to less than what they had previously.

No Frogmore, no money from the sovereign grant or from one of the Duchy’s (the latter was over £1m per year I recall - Cornwall via KC when he was PoW) and no free security.

M will frame it as a brand “re-set” rather than walking away from a commercial failure and H as a homecoming centring the children.

It’s possible they could turn public opinion around but it’s going to be a long hard slog and I’m not sure either of them have the personalities to lean into the work needed to do this.

At least we now understand what the pair will put their energy into in the UK, fighting for the full bells and whistles security

IMHO, I expect HaM are broke and have come back. I am curious that this was announced before the ANL judgement.

However, since KC3 is an enabler, he has set no public conditions of return. Which KC3 will live to regret as HaM are the same as ever. HaM will bring their same drama llama nonsense.

Who would trust H not to flounce in 12 months with a fresh set of stories to flog to Netflix for Freedom Flight 2.0?

Costs judgement is due this week isn’t it?

Starryfifty · 19/08/2026 23:46

Rob Shuter and Maureen Callahan discussing Meg recent birthday. Apparently she tried to organise a huge birthday bash but nobody accepted invitation

StartupRepair · 19/08/2026 23:47

I wonder if they will wander around with bare feet like they do when living their best life in California?
Does Harry have any friends left? Haven't they all drifted over to William?

SignsofLife · 19/08/2026 23:53

ShamedBySiri · 19/08/2026 23:15

Doria will be left rattling around alone in the house with 16 bathrooms, looking after it.
Like the housekeeper at Thornefield Hall, (albeit no mad first wife in the attic).

She moved out sometime ago

Starryfifty · 19/08/2026 23:53

If they stated that they are moving to UK to live modestly and privately, I'd say, fair play but they are both addicted to fame, drama, it's not possible. Also, H's utter hatred for William won't disappear because he moves continent

I'm actually watching GBNews! Apparently it's been reported that they are not getting on,,,

What happened to the assertion that the children could not go to school in the U K because of the paparazzi melee

Yes, costs judgement is due this week.

Like some other posters, I think that the ANL loss was the financial death knell.
