The threat may have moved online but RAVEC and our security services have access to all sorts of intelligence and communications and technology that Joe Public will have no idea about. Princess Ann opened up my local swimming pool when I was six and my only memory of this is her driving herself in with her security behind her. And from what I gather in her day to day life, she went out without the need for armed security Prince Edward uses the tube.

And I never remember hearing about Peter Phillips growing up. In fact I wouldn't recognise him if he walked right into me. And he was the grandson of a monarch!

Harry wants the life of a private citizen but absolutely none of the responsibility. It would have been perfectly easy for him and Meghan to live a quiet life. However he rights books where he details killing people in a war zone. He constantly briefs and leaks to the press and then expects the tax payer to cough up for him.

William and Kate have dates at a gastro pub and take their children to sporting and music events. The King goes for long walks in Balmoral and has often met and chatted to other walkers. Anne and Tim holiday in the Scottish Islands, staying in B&Bs

I live relatively close to Balmoral and the royals come and go in relative peace. I mentioned on another thread, a family friends dog peed on Camillas land-rover and she found it hilarious and had a good chat with our friends!

Bumped into princess anne in a shop a while back, near her house, no obvious security. The king (before he was king) was known to give his security the slip nipping into the local village near high grove. The reality is the U.K. isn’t the USA and whilst bad things happen, you don’t need 24/7 security

Every time I read this stuff I think he's trying to use it as a bargaining chip, that his father will be so desperate to see the grandchildren that he'll give in re the security stuff. It's absolutely pathetic. Many people more famous than them manage to visit this country with their own security, without incident. And this whinging pair happily visit other countries on their fake 'royal' tours.

KC3 has now seen A&L so any cold grandfather blackmail won’t work again. This meeting probably ticked a box for KC3 personally and professionally - he got good PR out of it, PH probs won’t realise that and if/when PH tries that nonsense again it will hold no power over KC3 personally or reputationally. The only people who it will hurt are his own children if he dangles them and they are disappointed. Shooting himself in the foot. PH was cock-a-hoop at his kids meeting his DF but having also ‘resolved’ a family estrangement recently I don’t think PH has clocked as Dua Lipa would say there are ‘new rules’. In my situation I am happy that we have now moved to be able to be polite and civil with brief greetings and moving on swiftly at necessary family events. That’s enough for me - there will not be anything like the involvement we had before. So PH assuming he’s back on for Christmas, Trooping, Ascot, Balmoral etc is decidedly naive and premature. He’s being managed at arms length.
