Harry Says His Fight Against Tabloids Is a 'Central Piece' of Rift with the Royal Family

Is there anyone in the public eye more delusional and lacking in self-awareness than Harry?

The Duke of Sussex, 39, sat down for a new interview for ITV's documentary Tabloids on Trial, premiering on Thursday, July 25. In a preview released a day before the airing, Harry discussed his reasons for publicly pursuing lawsuits against publications over allegations of phone hacking and other unlawful acts — a contrast from his brother, Prince William, who reportedly quietly received a "very large sum of money" in a settlement from News Group Newspapers (NGN) in 2020 amid a claimed "secret agreement" with the royals.
ITV's Rebecca Barry asked Prince Harry in the clip, "To what extent do you think your determination to fight the tabloids destroyed the relationship with your family?"
"I think that's certainly a central piece to it," the Duke of Sussex replied. "That's a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a torrent of abuse from the press."
"I've made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done. It would be nice if we did it as a family," he continued. "I believe that, again, from a service standpoint and when you're in a public role, that these are the things that we should be doing for the greater good. But I'm doing this for my reasons."

'I love Harry. He's so protective of his little family. Good man'

Whilst so very unprotective and disloyal of his 'big' family. Throwing them under the bus to get a fat pat cheque from Netflix. Good man my arse. Grabby, backstabbing hypocrite more like.

If the UK is so dangerous why hold the Invictus games here? Surely that should have ruled out their bid in the first round?

The Invictus Foundation is about far more than whether their founder will be able to travel to one event 3 years in the future

OK - people only seem to know about the IF when Harry turns up. But he isn’t much involved in the day-to-day running of any of their events (including the Games) and I doubt he’d have power of veto

I would have thought if their figurehead and his wife faced certain death in the country it was being held in I’m pretty sure he would have some say.

'He's so protective of his little family.'
Is he though? Moving from the UK where they had security to the US with it's relaxed gun laws. Going on a jolly to Nigeria, a country subject to FO travel warnings of terrorism and kidnap. I think he's over-egging it somewhat.

I agree, the idea that Nigeria is safe enough for Meghan whereas London isn't is mindbogglingly stupid. And that a hotel would be safer than St James's Palace, a royal residence which presumably has the kind of security he is campaigning for in the first place 🤦‍♀️
Quite obviously he wanted the narrative to be that Charles refused to see him. Most probably imo because Charles refused to see him without Camilla being there.

They just have a handful of stock answers that they use over and over again - racism, security, "the Briddish press". And seemingly expect people to instantly lose their powers of reasoning.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 26/07/2024 15:39

It's one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country."

This should put to bed the will she won’t she attend nonsense, we have had it from the horses mouth Meghan won’t be attending Invictus Birmingham.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 26/07/2024 15:42

What’s the betting he will play the my wife can’t attend Invictus Birmingham card at his appeal?

Eaumyword · 26/07/2024 15:42

Good - that might mean that IG can focus on the competitors and the Games without Meghan muscling in.

Hughs · 26/07/2024 15:43

It won't be the same without her leading a parade of veterans in her flip flops tho

BigWillyLittleTodger · 26/07/2024 15:47

Flip flops! 😂

Janiie · 26/07/2024 15:50

She won't attend because the UK does not dance to their deluded tune. We see them and their victim crap and it doesn't wash. So, typically it'll be all everyone else's fault that she won't show rather than just admitting 'yeah we overegged our poor us tales in the UK so don't think we'd be very welcome'.
Fgs IG give him the boot he's long past his use by date.

Yes the marching was very entertaining, true. Perhaps if they did show they could give her a bugle or one of those twirly tassly sticks, something to really feel part of things. Or will it just be 20 inappropriate dress changes with fans on the 'what Markle did next' thread marvelling at her nail polish amd bulky undies.

Meghan the Majorette!

Twistybranch · 26/07/2024 16:07

I think Meghan not attending the Birmingham Invictus will be the start of her withdrawal from the games altogether ….and to a future where the Invictus games winds down and develops into something that doesn’t involve an international sporting competition( v expensive) and instead supports veterans and their access to sports through charities in their own countries. Sort of like how Archewell donates to various charities. Invictus will be a charity for Vets in sports and will make donations to small charities around the world. Harry will still make sure he still gets all the good PR

Vespanest · 26/07/2024 16:13

id just like one interview with Harry when the interviewer has some sort of backbone, the closest was Tom Bradby when Tom realised he’d been played. “The media called them racist”. Just to ask Harry if he knows the danger media can bring why does he continue to speak ill of the people he claims to love. The correlation of his words about Catherine and the abuse she gets. He didn’t need to bring them in to the conversation in February and he didn’t need to last night. There is no way that Harry does not follow social media, he sees the abuse. The interview wasn’t certainly not managed by a PR rep or he just ignored them. Harry turned an interesting look at the hacking and made it about himself, Meghan who wasn’t even around at the time and his estranged family. That’s the headlines today not Stephen Lawrence or Millie Dowlers families but Harry versus William

popthepopcorns · 26/07/2024 16:19

BigWillyLittleTodger · 26/07/2024 15:19

Yes, same for Catherine it was her pictures that the FBI found on the phone of the would be Trump assassin Thomas Crooks.

WOW, is that true?

Imagine if that lunatic was inspired by Meghan's toxic lies about Kate being the royal racist (as reported by Scobie).

King Charles has just had an extra £35million added to his annual income. What better time for a prodigal son to seek a reconciliation? Harry obviously neglected his History lessons. Things rarely go well for a jealous, bitter younger brother, the Monarch and Crown Prince are important. The rest of them need to watch their p's and q's or pay the price of not doing so.

I think it would be a great shame if all Invictus Foundation events were halted, just because the founder has been problematic icw some aspects of the Games

They are unlikely to survive as a grant-giving body (nowhere near rich enough) but I suppose it could still function as a sort of hub for the various spin-off organisations that have already come in to bring because of the wider work of the Foundation. But if it no longer runs events (any, not just the Games), I think it’ll fold

pearlfritillary · 26/07/2024 16:37

Harry is doing himself no favours whatsoever.
For myself his increasingly desperate attempts to portray himself as,well, what is his latest incarnation?
My opinion - Harry is thrashing around in an ever decreasing fetid pool of his own making.

Hopefully our security services are monitoring the SS and their ilk.

Indeed. And following the money trail if payments have been made.

masomenos · 26/07/2024 16:53

The bottom line is that Harry is thick, arrogant, lost in the wilderness, suggestible, burdened by a male ego, riddled with issues, lacking in friends and family, but has been raised to believe he's above all others.

A highly unattractive bag of problems.

And he willingly, and in the face of advice not to do so, married a woman who saw him for what he could do for her.

I haven't read this whole thread because nobody with the above characteristics is worth the 20 minutes or so that would take. He has nothing more to contribute to society than my school-aged children (maybe less, as they have potential at least). He has no point (other than to those who love and care for him, of course).

I had read about this too.

Yes, there are nut jobs out there. However, as unpopular as Meghan is, these nut jobs aren’t all (if any of them) targeting her. The threat level does not equate anywhere near what Harry would have people believe or his level of paranoia and propaganda.
Supporters of the couple will remind people of the two neo-nazis who were imprisoned for targeting the Sussexes. However, they were given lengthy custodial sentences for targeting a number of people.

Some people see Harry as a good man but to most, people see him as a master manipulator and a delusional, bitter fool who literally sold his Granny.

MummyJ12 · 26/07/2024 17:14

Most of my post wasn’t aimed at you @popthepopcorns. It was in response to the poster you quoted.

I also can’t make sense of Harry increasing his family’s risk due to claims such as the kill count in Spare. Not that he’d accept that or take accountability for it.
