The Duke of Sussex, 39, sat down for a new interview for ITV's documentary Tabloids on Trial, premiering on Thursday, July 25. In a preview released a day before the airing, Harry discussed his reasons for publicly pursuing lawsuits against publications over allegations of phone hacking and other unlawful acts — a contrast from his brother, Prince William, who reportedly quietly received a "very large sum of money" in a settlement from News Group Newspapers (NGN) in 2020 amid a claimed "secret agreement" with the royals.
ITV's Rebecca Barry asked Prince Harry in the clip, "To what extent do you think your determination to fight the tabloids destroyed the relationship with your family?"
"I think that's certainly a central piece to it," the Duke of Sussex replied. "That's a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a torrent of abuse from the press."
"I've made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done. It would be nice if we did it as a family," he continued. "I believe that, again, from a service standpoint and when you're in a public role, that these are the things that we should be doing for the greater good. But I'm doing this for my reasons."

Noone 'owns' Harry and noone cares if the 5th in line has gone to shill for a corporate coaching app in California. He is constitutionally irrelevant after all.

He's free to flounce off to America or anywhere else. However, the only reason anyone there gives a toss about him - and the only reason he can afford a fancy house in one of the most exclusive towns in California - is because of Britain and its royal family. Had it not been for that accident of birth, he'd be lucky to get a job in his local Amazon warehouse.

It's interesting, in his book , he said that William and Catherine told him to wear the nazi uniform as it was funny.

Though of course if he has any ounce of sense at all he shouldn't have worn it

Of course it’s someone else’s fault he wore a Nazi uniform. He’s never taken responsibility for a single thing in his life.

I can’t understand why supporters of Harry and Meghan don’t understand that they are not going to be universally liked and when they are paying tens of thousands in PR that they actually want to be talked about a lot. With that comes criticism, they are fascinating especially Harry. I have no idea what the guy wants, he can’t seem to keep coherent narrative. As for Harry hating the media, he is the media and as for the claims of the royal family leaking, there is more leaking than ever and that’s not including Harry selling his own stories. There is some snobbery in that selling stories to a tabloid is poor behaviour but selling them to the highest publisher is lauded as brave.

It’s was proven @Vespanest that Harry’s people had planted stories to tabloids too. There was a freedom of information act request. I posted the information on a thread recently.
