The Duke of Sussex, 39, sat down for a new interview for ITV's documentary Tabloids on Trial, premiering on Thursday, July 25. In a preview released a day before the airing, Harry discussed his reasons for publicly pursuing lawsuits against publications over allegations of phone hacking and other unlawful acts — a contrast from his brother, Prince William, who reportedly quietly received a "very large sum of money" in a settlement from News Group Newspapers (NGN) in 2020 amid a claimed "secret agreement" with the royals.
ITV's Rebecca Barry asked Prince Harry in the clip, "To what extent do you think your determination to fight the tabloids destroyed the relationship with your family?"
"I think that's certainly a central piece to it," the Duke of Sussex replied. "That's a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a torrent of abuse from the press."
"I've made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done. It would be nice if we did it as a family," he continued. "I believe that, again, from a service standpoint and when you're in a public role, that these are the things that we should be doing for the greater good. But I'm doing this for my reasons."

People don't have "nuances" in their opinion - they hold it one way or another. You don't get to dictate that.

I'm old too and while there may have been faults on both sides on occasion, I know where I apportion the main blame, and that's not on the members of the family who didn't flounce, who didn't commercialise everything, and who didn't write books and make programmes villifying their family members who they knew could not respond... if you can't see any of that, well it's on you.

Reading the posts you've written, and the level of detail/evidence you've included to back up facile opinions, it's a tad ironic that you are now attempting to patronise... hun.

It really emphasises how intelligent and knowledgeable some of the mainly regular posters are on here, and the extent to which they can back up their opinions with facts and evidence, when someone posts who does not have any of those tools at their disposal!!

Totally off topic, but have you seen Colin Farrells interview about setting up his foundation and discussing his son, , who is profoundly disabled with a rare genetic disorder

A humble, modest interview, no self pity just a wonderful loving, genuine and heartwrenching discussion about why he is setting up the Foundation, discussing the plans he has for it, discussing his sons challenges, and heaping praise on the person who is running it with him.

It is absolutely worth a watch

After I watched it, i couldn't help but compare it to the CBS interview with H&M, the difference is stark and explains why they really are seen as not having a genuine authentic bone in their body.
