To Archie? I have just read this for the first time as I didn't read Sparse and I found it hard to believe. Isn't that a bit weird? Can you imagine having a photo of your MIL to look at when giving birth ?

Yes according to Harry in "Spare" they had a small photo of her there.

I dont personally find it weird I think its something that brought them comfort. I'm all for that when giving birth. Both for mum and dad.

Edited to correct spelling

It's the updated version of the medieval custom of queens sending for the girdle of the Virgin Mary (alleged) to hold for protection while they were giving birth.

Like your typo. Sparse. Certainly is with the truth.

Enko · 08/05/2024 19:54

From memory it was a small photo on a table not her or him holding it.

Runnerinthenight · 08/05/2024 20:08

I don't know how Harry remembered seeing he'd had all the gas and air!

Perhaps he hallucinated it?

HospitalStayNHS · 08/05/2024 20:09

Yes I put it there and polished it every couple of hours.

PinkFrogss · 08/05/2024 20:10

Does it really matter that much what a women you don’t know had in the room while giving birth years ago?

TheWayTheLightFalls · 08/05/2024 20:10

Sparse is an excellent typo.

No idea.

Yet here you are.

That's a whole new level of weird. A photo of his mum who she never met

Can you imagine the responses if someone posted that in here

'My MIL died when my husband was young. He talks about her constantly and now he wants us to have a photo of her in the room I'm giving birth in'

You know there's NOONE would say that's a nice idea

They really are the gift that just keeps giving

peanutbuttertoasty · 08/05/2024 20:43

Bit weird for the surrogate! 🤭

Have you read Spare?
There's the account of Harry finding Meghan kneeling on Diana's grave, clutching the headstone and asking for guidance.
Then later on they put the pregnancy test by a photo of Diana to get a positive result.
You'd think that there were three people in the marriage.

Don't forget the box of Diana's hair next to the bed.

Prince Harry reveals he kept a box of Diana's HAIR in his nightstand

Harry, 38, wrote about the Sussexes' attempts to get pregnant in his book Spare, revealing that he experienced what he saw as two 'good omens' that indicated to him the couple would conceive.

Between that and the constant falling to the ground I thought we were in wattpad territory

If this is true, she is nuts.
If it’s not true she/they are nuts - for publishing it

GoodOldWoo · 08/05/2024 20:55

They had healthy children regardless. It's not like she was giving birth in a war zone or in some dire social need.
I actually think they need to just remind themselves of how fortunate they really are and wond their necks in..if indeed this story is true.

Runnerinthenight · 08/05/2024 21:01

They're actually batshit! Who does 2 pregnancy tests at the same time?

The bit about his mother's hair is a tad unsettling! As for the singing seals...!!!

IsoldeWagner · 08/05/2024 21:19

It's a very entertaining book but I did end up thinking that there is something very amiss.

AssignedUnimportantAtBirth · 08/05/2024 21:47

Kinsey Schofield is also now reporting that Beatrice overheard Meghan telling Harry that, while she (Meghan) was doing yoga, Diana was talking to her and telling her that they were right to have attended QEII's jubilee celebration. Batshit.

User14March · 08/05/2024 21:50

The preg test also took so long to do that Harry fell asleep whilst waiting for M to come back with it, it made me think he thought they took about 30 mins given how he described it.

😂brilliant! I'm loving the whole "Diana from Beyond" narrative 😂
I wish William would clap back with "well Mum spoke to me when I was making cheese on toast and asked me why Harry had turned into such a lying, self obsessed idiot married to a fantasist"

He has little idea about most things, it would appear.

peanutbuttertoasty · 08/05/2024 22:25

Didn’t he claim that megs left hospital within a couple of hours of her epidural too?
