Is it true that there was a framed photo of Diana on the bedside table when Meghan gave birth ?

To Archie? I have just read this for the first time as I didn't read Sparse and I found it hard to believe. Isn't that a bit weird? Can you imagine having a photo of your MIL to look at when giving birth ?

That’s it, AnnieSF. So many things Harry has shared should be kept sacred. Telling the world cheapens them. Why commodify intimate moments within your marriage this way?

Tlolljs · 11/05/2024 04:57

Because they find themselves endlessly fascinating and think the rest of us will too.

I guess that is the price you have to pay for the book. Nobody wants to read about them going to the supermarket do they?

Tlolljs · 11/05/2024 19:24

I don’t want to read about him rubbing cream on his dick either but that didn’t stop him.

Surely it didn’t have that in it!

Oh yes it did. His Mum's favorite face cream no less. Just so we get all the glowing details.

What for?

What for?

Why was it in the book, or what did he use it for? 😆

Hoolahoophop · 15/05/2024 10:23

It got frozen while he was walking to the north (or south) pole and was hurting so he put cream on it to sooth the burn.

Well sort of both really… but was it to stop it getting wrinkled or something?

Oh I see. Well that’s not quite so bad. I thought he’d included his genital grooming and maintenance regime!

Calliopespa · 15/05/2024 10:42

But frozen! 😳 I’ll never feel like eating a Twister again - and certainly not a strawberry Walls mini milk .

Well, he did make sure to mention the state of his brother's foreskin. (The one anecdote in Spare that I thought was a bridge too far.)

I missed that bit. Though now you mention he was confirming some facts

Calliopespa · 15/05/2024 13:01

Quite glad I missed it all by the sound of it.

ginasevern · 15/05/2024 18:17

Still laughing at "Sparse".

OMG. I haven’t read the book and that bit hasn’t been discussed anywhere.

What did he say?

What did he say?

Context is a dinner at Clarence House the night before William's wedding, which Harry attended along with Charles, William, and two friends of William's. Harry had just returned from an expedition to the Arctic and was physically uncomfortable due to a case of frostnip (frostbite):

“I regaled the company with tales of the North Pole. Pa was very interested, and sympathetic about the discomfort of my frostnipped ears and cheeks, and it was an effort not to overshare and tell him also about my equally tender penis. Upon arriving home I’d been horrified to discover that my nether regions were frostnipped as well, and while the ears and cheeks were already healing, the todger wasn’t.

It was becoming more of an issue by the day.

I don’t know why I should’ve been reluctant to discuss my penis with Pa, or all the gentlemen present. My penis was a matter of public record, and indeed some public curiosity. The press had written about it extensively. There were countless stories in books, and papers (even The New York Times) about Willy and me not being circumcised. Mummy had forbidden it, they all said, and while it’s absolutely true that the chance of getting penile frostbite is much greater if you’re not circumcised, all the stories were false. I was snipped as a baby.”

@capitanaamerica it’s interesting he called it ‘frostnip’ or aimed mainly at USA market?

AliceOlive · 17/05/2024 22:44

We say frostbite in US

Frostnip is the stage before frostbite. Less serious but presumably still unpleasant

AnnieSF · 17/05/2024 22:52

Lovely dinner talk 🙄 who cares!

That the media wrote about them being circumcised when they were young boys. It was an invasion of their privacy when young. I took it as an example of how invasive (and ridiculous) tabloids can be.

Runnerinthenight · 18/05/2024 00:50

Harry seems to think a lot with his todger...
