To Archie? I have just read this for the first time as I didn't read Sparse and I found it hard to believe. Isn't that a bit weird? Can you imagine having a photo of your MIL to look at when giving birth ?

Didn’t he claim that megs left hospital within a couple of hours of her epidural too?

Oh yes. I wonder how Harry was at that point, having inhaled an entire canister of gas and air?

Enko · 08/05/2024 22:28

Seriously are we actually on a parenting website complaining about something that a labouring woman chose to do that didn't bring harm to anyone?

May not be something you would chose to do but nor is many of the choices other labouring women does. How about we support a woman to feel comfortable in her labour?

FanofLeaves · 08/05/2024 22:28

I think take anything surrounding the tales of Meghan’s childbirth with a great big pinch of salt. A salt cellar-full.

How about Harry supporting her by not getting high?

Sorry but that is a weak argument that is pulled out time and time again to try to stop conversation. This is no ordinary woman ... oh wait that's an M and S ad doh! Yes we are harpies to even talk about this. Sorry not sorry.

So what is he lying about in this instance?

AnnieSF · 08/05/2024 22:37

I heard that Diana spoke from beyond the grave to the chef to tell him to give Harry only one sausage as he was a real pain in the arse whinger.

Could be anything, or maybe they’re both just nuts. There’s a horrible story Harry told about burying a miscarriage with his bare hands in the earth that I don’t necessarily buy either. There seems to be no end of telenovela material in that book. But there we go, they’ve put it out there, people will have an opinion on whether it’s likely to all be true or not.

AnnieSF · 08/05/2024 22:39

Sparse is the next book !

AnnieSF · 08/05/2024 22:40

I forgot image.

IsoldeWagner · 08/05/2024 22:41

Oh god I remember that story.
I have no idea what's going on with them, but "telenovela" is a good term.

KnickerlessParsons · 08/05/2024 22:44

IsoldeWagner · 08/05/2024 20:48

Have you read Spare?
There's the account of Harry finding Meghan kneeling on Diana's grave, clutching the headstone and asking for guidance.
Then later on they put the pregnancy test by a photo of Diana to get a positive result.
You'd think that there were three people in the marriage.

That's just weird

Enko · 08/05/2024 22:47

@AnnieSF A weak argument? That a labouring woman should be comfortable during her labour?

@IsoldeWagner my friend's dh did the same thing. I think the same about both men regarding that - it is not flattering.

That they have a photo present I have no issue with Nor do I find it creepy, weird, or idiotic. If it brought them both comfort during the labour/planning for I think that is fine.

AssignedUnimportantAtBirth · 08/05/2024 22:50

Joking aside, it is completely fucking weird, insensitive and sinister for Meghan to claim that Princess Diana speaks to her, some total random, from beyond the grave. Especially if some of that heavenly instruction includes pitting one of her beloved sons, who clearly struggles to keep a grip on reality, against the other.

AssignedUnimportantAtBirth · 08/05/2024 22:52

Why would a picture of Princess Diana provide comfort to Meghan Markle in labour? Why wouldn't she have a picture of, I don't know, how about her own mother, Doria, who actually gave birth to her?

AnnieSF · 08/05/2024 22:54

Yes @Enko because both you and I know that what you are saying is not about that at all. It is totally about you trying to shut down a mental story about Meghan and Harry. I'm sorry you don't get it .

LaMarschallin · 08/05/2024 22:55

Who's going to be looking at a photo of their MiL when they're in labour?
I couldn't have picked my own mother out of a line up with second DC.

Fine if it brings comfort but that doesn't stop other people finding it bizarre.

Edited as my last sentence didn't make a lot of sense Grin

LargeAmericano · 08/05/2024 22:58

I think Meghan has a bit of an obsession with Diana. Even copied the coy looks that Diana used to do. I bet she spent years researching her and trying to emulate her before she managed to get into Harry’s stratosphere. Probably deluded enough to think she’d get revenge for Diana by bringing down the RF and the media so played on Harry’s obvious weaknesses. Her obvious hatred of Kate speaks volumes. Kate got the ring after all. I bet there was a lot more behind the scenes as well.

It’s pretty creepy tbh.

I think Diana would be turning in her grave at the mess Harry got himself into.

We can't know it did nor can we know it didn't. As I understand it Doria was actually there so perhaps no photo was needed?

The thing is in labour we all need different things. I think most of us with more than 1 child have things we brought for the 1st labour we didn't bother with for the 2nd. Also found other things worked for 2nd labour.

Frankly, if Meghan wanted a photo present then why not let her? What harm does it do? I have heard of many different things women found that brought them comfort in labour that I wouldn't have found work. Doesn't = it didn't work for others.

If you read other posts of mine you will see I am not a H&M fan. However, I do strongly belief we should give labouring women as much support they need during their labour. If all they are asking for is a photo what is the harm in that?

AnnieSF · 08/05/2024 23:00

It's just all so bizarre - millions of people conceive every day yet Harry and Meghan needed a lock of Diana's hair Confused a photograph of her and the singing seals to achieve it. 👻

Enko · 08/05/2024 23:03

@AnnieSF I am not trying to shut down a story. If you read other posts on here you will see I am not a H&M fan. However, I do strongly believe we should be supportive of labouring women.

I have supported friends in their choices from elective c secs via epidurals to homebirths. Because that was what was right for that person.

AssignedUnimportantAtBirth · 08/05/2024 23:04

@Enko. She can have what she wants in the labour room with her. It doesn't mean I and others can't think it's fucking weird. Because it is fucking weird.

This isn't the labour board though. We're not here supporting women giving birth. It's the RF board and we are allowed to say it's weird.

YOU and others on this thread might think it is weird. Others don't.

Frankly, I have heard of far weirder things people packed in their labour bag. (A friend took her mothers ashes)

You are allowed to say that yes..

And I am allowed to say I disagree and that I feel we should be supportive of labouring women.

You know we are all allowed our opinions. That doesn't mean I am shutting stuff down just means I have a different opinion than you.
