Harry and Meghan are so petty and bitter

They knew that announcing Meghan's new venture would be big news. So they dropped it 45 minutes before William was due to speak yesterday evening. At an awards ceremony dedicated to harry and William's mother's memory.

But that wasn't good enough. Oh no. They then announced the winner of their own awards. While the Diana awards were still going on and Prince William was handing out prizes.

Is there no level this petty, bitter couple won't sink to?!

Maybe they are trying to take the heat off the Princess of Wales, knowing that they will be attacked for their new venture. It certainly seems to be working.

But why not give the Diana awards their space yesterday. Then announce their things today?

Oh, because they needed to time them to take the limelight away from Prince William, of course!

Judging by the reports about Prince William it may also be no bad thing if he is not in the limelight at the moment.

Got to admit, I’m neither a Harry & Meghan or a royal family fan, in this case the launch was probably planned ages ago and the timing could be an unfortunate coincidence. Anyway, H&M don’t have anything to do
with the RF, so why should they consider William in their timing of their new venture?

People were begging her to do something to take the heat off Kate. She has now done it. So be happy.

Harry and Megan don’t have to coordinate their work with the RF. The title of this thread is so deeply offensive that I’ve reported it as hate speech.

Given that the clash was with the Diana awards it is not really likely, or possible that the clash was a coincidence. Harry was involved with the awards so he knew when it was. No idea why they chose the same date but hard to believe it was coincidence.

Gives me an ick to be honest uses his dead mother as a platform when it's convenient but when Kate gets compared to diana (not even in a good way) it's suddenly game on for a competition

Feels juvenile

The timing of the announcement was hugely disrespectful to the Diana Legacy Awards and to Harry. What must he think of his mother's legacy being undermined to further his wife's commercial interests? If he sees it, that is.

They did PW a favour!

There has been a very negative run of stories. He lost control of the photo story. When the daily mail run a story accusing you of being ungentlemanly for letting your sick wife take the fall you know there is troubke brewing.

So - he should call the Sussex two and thank them!

If it was planned "ages ago" they would have known the date of the Diana Legacy Awards, so they could have easily avoided the clash.

The reaching for an unfortunate coincidence sounds desperate.

That's ridiculous.

Harry and Meghan announce their own activities and entirely separate awards, separately from the BRF.

To say this was petty is ridiculous. Harry himself participated in the Diana awards, why would he want to purposefully take the attention off his mother's awards.

If it wasn't a coincidence then they probably considered that, shock horror, they can do two things on the same date, and indeed they do not have to coordinate their diaries with the BRF because they aren't working royals.

Can you compute people can do two things on the same date? Can you further compute different people can do different things on the same date and it doesn't mean anything? It's not that hard.

But this event was not a Royal event, it was the Diana Legacy Awards in which Harry participated equally with his brother. So he would have been coordinating with the organisers of the event - his own event.

I think it will be something to do with Diana 'watching over' them and isn't it an anniversary of some sort? Like when they went to Canada or moved to Montecito? I can imagine them thinking it was a nice way to connect their future with Diana's legacy. To be clear, I don't agree with that and I think it's daft and a bit tasteless but from what they've said in the past, it's more likely that than any bitterness.

Yeah and it's all over the bloody news! No attention has been taken off it and everyone did their own thing as well.

Don't be tunnel visioned. There is virtually no point in building up a narrative that this is what they did or did not intend to do. All of these activities are completely unrelated. Everybody still had something in the press. They got on with their plans. The world is still turning. Move on.

Nothing to say about the timing then? Meghan announcing her big new project on the night of the Diana awards? Harry and Meghan announcing the winner of their own awards during the Diana awards?

I'm in bed with a virus, surfing a bit to pass the time. Is that OK with you?
