KP PR are really not doing well with this!

And now PA media have all issued picture kill notifications to their editors and publishers regarding the Mother’s Day image due to how highly edited it was

Not going to help with the conspiracy theories

The Princess of Wales has tweeted that she edited it.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 11/03/2024 11:06

Woman edits photo before putting it on her own Instagram and the media who lifted it to gain clicks to their own pages didn’t bother to query the editing before posting it…

it’s not really news

ChalcotSq · 11/03/2024 11:06

Did she say why?

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 11/03/2024 11:06

Yeah this is kind of old news, she’s already come out and admitted she’s edited it.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 11/03/2024 11:07

ChalcotSq · 11/03/2024 11:06

Did she say why?

"Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing."

The Princess of Wales has tweeted that she edited it.

Yep, and PA media have issued their order after her social media message

Media didn’t lift it from her instagram - KP issued it directly to media outlets.

Nope. The new news is that PA media issued their order and maintained it after she admitted to editing it

She gave an excuse why

but let’s be honest, it’s because she looks like shit and didn’t want to worry people so it was edited to a level that media agencies now won’t touch it

Now will people shut the fuck up?

Shut up about what?

PA media issued their kill order after her tweet, that’s the new drama as it still has doubts over her claims

right okay. I thought it was a picture they had specifically released to the press, but looks like they just posted it to their own Instagram.

Sounds like the media companies need to stop lifting things from instagram to generate their clicks to me.

cloudchaos · 11/03/2024 11:10

Pretty much all photos in newspapers and magazines are edited. What's the surprise that this one is? Is it just a surprise at how "amateur" her skills are? This really is a circus.

I’m confused again 😩😂

A poster on the other thread showed a bbc snippet, showing they said they took it from the IG?

At least one did - the BBc have said they did.

I doubt they were the only ones

Photos even if edited need to meet credibility standards for picture agencies and media agencies to publish.

The fact these were heavily edited and the tweet from POW didn’t really help calm the storm is the issue

It proves it was highly edited, they’d not remove the picture and refuse to publish otherwise

I have a basic knowledge of photoshop and have been known to edit photos that I know will be seen publicly.. I cleaned my skin up and thickened my hair on my last passport photo 🤫 .. most women would choose to tweak their photos if they were going to be seen around the world I think!

BoohooWoohoo · 11/03/2024 11:15

People aren’t going to shut up because this is the Internet so people will be examining every photo that was ever published of them.

And that’s normal, and expected of the images from KP

The issue with this image is how highly it’s been edited that the media and picture agencies are doubting its veracity

For yet another agency to refuse to publish after she clarified is pretty big

I think some people are confusing this issue..

I've just posted this on another thread, but hopefully it will clarify.

William, Kate/Kensington Palace (or whoever) did both: posted the picture on Instagram and sent the official press release handout to all the press agencies

The press agencies, like the BBC, lifted and used the picture from Instagram.

Other press agencies, like Associated Press, Reuters, Getty, Press Association, waited for the official press handout from Kensington Palace.

That's why people are confusing this issue. It's also why each press agency is taking a different approach on whether to publish the photo or not.

PerfectYear321 · 11/03/2024 11:20

So she's not been seen for months and this is the second fake photo that's been released?

Does anyone really believe she wrote that tweet?

So William supposedly took the photo and released it, but Kate is the scapegoat for the fallout.

Does Kate even know she's sent out this tweet?

We need proof of life at this point.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 11/03/2024 11:20

it’s almost as if the press are in a massive huff at the fact W&K have stayed silent about her health, despite the constant pushing, and have even not used a professional photographer on the annual occasion they usually do.

William is determined to do things differently and the press aren’t liking it so they’re pushing back in as many ways possible.

Serenster · 11/03/2024 11:21

This comment from the president of the NUJ throws more light on the press stance here. Privacy means they are cut out of the distribution channels, and they don’t like it

Yet another picture agency has ‘killed’ the Mother’s Day photo due to credibility issues
Serenster · 11/03/2024 11:23

If you aren’t sure of the provenance of the photo after all, you don’t have use it…

(but we all saw the interest there was in that photo. The media companies thought commercially, not journalistically and are now looking to blame others. And, if Kate continues to take and distribute her own photos, how do they monetise that?)
