KP PR are really not doing well with this!

Associated press
AFP
Reuters

And now PA media have all issued picture kill notifications to their editors and publishers regarding the Mother’s Day image due to how highly edited it was

Not going to help with the conspiracy theories

Hedonism · 12/03/2024 16:49

Hang on - are you saying that you know someone who knows someone who spoke to someone who had heard from someone else that the king is very unwell?

Shit. This is bad.

ferris buellers day off ugh GIF

Hedonism = Econ teacher.

Simone : Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious. Economics Teacher : Thank you, Simone.

Not sure whether to throw this into the mix but here goes. Just spoken to someone close to me who has a friend who works in a fairly elevated position in finance in The City. This chap was in the company of someone who has heard from a source that the King is more unwell than we are being told and that KM’s surgery didn’t go to plan. Don’t flame me. It could be bollocks but this bloke does work with wealthy clients

That's very sad...I would hope this isn't true...

Dunno. Don’t think so. Think he’s in some sort of hedge fund management?

Just have to say your name is wrong 😃ginger cats are the best!

Clearly horrible photoshop but nothing will be as bad as this

Nothing wrong with photoshopping or editing.

The issue is that the photo was manipulated, an amalgam of several photos to depict a falsehood.

Ie so heavily edited to not be a reflection of what transpired, deceptive, issued officially with a narrative stating when it was taken and by whom when it wasn't taken at the time is was claimed.

Apparently there's a blackout in the UK but they are reporting in more detail in Spain:

Very serious allegations

What I do know is that an awful lot of the posts on these many MN threads about the PoW are popping up as unattributed sections of opinion pieces in various newspapers. Some sentences are word for word.

So either the articles aren’t genuine - ie they’re ripped off - or the posts on MN aren’t authentic and are being planted by journalists.

Really shoddy.

Journalists lift things from MN all the time.

I mean if the Windsors age good at one thing, it's maintaining their own survival. There is no way they woukd attempt that. How could they posdiibly survive pretending that the Future Queen is alive and well and that level of deception over months if she was in a coma/dead?
It eventually comes out. Not least because Kates family I can't imagine, no matter how many houses William bought them, would sing like canaries. I would if it was my daughter. Never mind one mocked up photo, they would be utterly discredited.

From someone who specialises in false news about Covid and Israel. Yup I'm going to believe him.

BenefitWaffle · 13/03/2024 13:14

They are not going to lie and say she is alive when she is dead.
She could have been in a short coma and they could have lied about this. If she was expected to be in a coma for a few days then why would they release that medical information?

Photohopping · 11/03/2024 11:14

I have a basic knowledge of photoshop and have been known to edit photos that I know will be seen publicly.. I cleaned my skin up and thickened my hair on my last passport photo 🤫 .. most women would choose to tweak their photos if they were going to be seen around the world I think!

I've done some Photoshop courses too, and I've played around with images quite a lot. But in this case, I think I would have asked for some professional help - given that the scrutiny of the picture libraries and media would be intense.

I like listening to a BBC sounds podcast called ' when it hits the fan' about the media. The conversation on this is interesting. It's David Yelland and Simon Lewis, who are very experienced press people.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 13/03/2024 16:21

Interesting wasn’t it? Listened to it this morning.

What was the gist?

The craziest thing about all this is that the truth is obviously so bad that the royal family think that all the speculation and ridicule is preferable to to the truth being revealed

The truth is that, like Meghan when she gave birth to Archie, they believe Catherine should be afforded her privacy until she is ready to engage publicly.

No one could have predicted the idiocy the release of a family snap has turned into. Also, I’m not sure it’s really a thing outside the MN bubble. No one in US cares.

You obviously haven’t seen Twitter!

BenefitWaffle · 13/03/2024 17:15

Or tiktok.

Or Stephen Colbert in his US show.

I’m not sure twitter counts as part of the US or part of the real world.

Are you reading Candace Owens? Do you think she’s more or less unhinged than people plugging Kate conspiracy theories?

BenefitWaffle · 13/03/2024 17:17

Or the White House press briefing.

I was referring more to your suggestion that only those in the “MN bubble”, were talking about Kate Middleton.

That's not true. It's being reported on a lot in the US. And the RF has been made a laughing stock because of it. The queen would never have let this happen!

The Daily Show skit

"a woman being silenced by a repressive dynasty". Yikes
