I've tried to stick with believing these two yet there are more holes than swiss cheese..

I'm sorry it's the DM, they do have the extract though.....

Nitrous oxide ran out..... seriously? Portland....as in Hospital? Ran out of Gas?

If container ran out Harry must have stolen the lot for himself. Sounds like he is a looser druggie anyway.

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 08/01/2023 01:05

I'm just stunned...

The gas ran out....

Thee 'ol Portland cant meet demand so save your ££$ and go elsewhere to 'av ye babby....

It literally says he took it all

He says when a nurse tried to give laughing gas to Meghan for the pain there was none left. He describes how the nurse looked at the empty tank and then looked back at him:

‘I could see the thought slowly dawning. Gracious, the husband’s had it all. “Sorry,” I said meekly.’

Who nicks all the gas and air? I mean sure, have a bit, but leave some for the poor woman in labour 🤣

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 08/01/2023 01:22

He supped an entire tank....

OP posts:
Maireas · 08/01/2023 08:32

So he took all the gas and air when his wife was in labour?
He's admitting to this?
The Portland would have a plentiful supply and just bring in another tank, the midwife just probably thought she didn't need to.

ZellyFitzgerald · 08/01/2023 08:32

I rolled my eyes so hard when I read this.

He's clearly included this to show how cool he is when it actually just makes him look like an idiot.

If DH was more interested in getting high when I was giving birth than actually supporting me then I would have been really angry. Poor MM.

And I guarantee the nurse was thinking something a lot stronger than 'gracious'. More like 'what a knobhead'.

CoffeeBoy · 08/01/2023 08:38

I think it was just that canister which ran out. Which doesn’t mean he emptied an entire canister, people don’t get brand new full ones. You just get a new mouth piece.

I’m very surprised the Portland use canisters and don’t have it plumbed into the wall but maybe they do and also need canisters if a woman is being active and not near the point on the wall where the tubing connects. I assume the rooms are quite big. I work in the nhs and the tubing reaches everywhere apart from the bathrooms so we use canisters in there.

But it’s nobbish (and probably illegal as it’s a prescription drug) behaviour

Maireas · 08/01/2023 08:42

It doesn't matter how much he took, or whether there was a canister, tubing or whatever....he was there as a husband and birth partner and was getting high on a drug provided to help her in labour, not to get him relaxed.

StClare101 · 08/01/2023 08:44

Why the fuck did he have ANY? I’ve never heard of any husband/birthing partner helping themselves before. What a dick!

This

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 08/01/2023 08:48

That is disgraceful behaviour. What an idiot man child.

BadlyArrangedToasties · 08/01/2023 08:50

Isn't it plumbed into the walls??? I didn't think hospitals still used canisters ?

ArseInTheDogBowl · 08/01/2023 08:50

You've answered your own question there @StClare101- he's a dick 😁

He's sold his soul to Netflix and PRH for cash. Not a shred of dignity remaining. Netflix must be so pissed off though, that show was so boring- it seems everything went into the book 😂

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 08/01/2023 08:51

It's saddened me that it has all become this way. Harry and I are of a similar age and I grew up watching him in the media, I never thought it would turn out this way.

The gas and air though is so dangerous, I remember my partner having a cheeky puff and he threw up and nearly passed out.

Oh I've seen plenty of dads sneaking a try of it when I come in to do epidurals (anaesthetist). Yep, coming in and ruining the vibe turning all the lights on etc. Would he rather we stuck an 8cm needle in his wife's back without being able to see?!

As an aside, @CoffeeBoy using cylinders for Entonox is apparently more environmentally friendly than a piped supply - nitrous oxide is a horrible greenhouse gas and the leakage through most hospital pipeline systems is horrendous - something like 98%! Much less when from cylinders at the point of use.

PuttingDownRoots · 08/01/2023 08:56

When I had my homebirth they brought three canisters. M pretty sure a hospital had more on hand.

MistletoeandBaileys · 08/01/2023 09:00

That made me feel really sorry for Meghan. A really vulnerable time for her and the person who is supposed to be her support is busy getting high.

I fully believe the worst of his behaviour was hidden by the Palace for years. This is the real Harry.

Really?

It's a pretty universal trope that the dad to be has a little go. I thought it was pretty normal

Maireas · 08/01/2023 09:09

I agree, @MistletoeandBaileys - it really made me feel sorry for Meghan in that situation.

GlitchStitch · 08/01/2023 09:13

Why on earth would he publicise this? What a nob. Poor Meghan, I'd be mortified if this came to light.

ZellyFitzgerald · 08/01/2023 09:13

Absolutely!

This whole sorry situation is a case of 'be careful what you wish for' for Harry.

He wanted freedom to say what he wants when he wants and he's got it.

What he is learning is that you just can't control the narrative however hard you try.

Meghan has my sympathy at this point, she's stuck with him now and now there's no palace to help cover up his awful personality with the cheeky chap spin he had previously.

When I had my son it was in canisters. Mine ran out. I was screaming in pain. The midwife did not fetch another as we were a bit busy. I was only told some time after the event. I just thought the gas and air wasn't cutting it.
Which might contribute towards me only having one child.

StClare101 · 08/01/2023 08:44

It’s bizarre. And then include this in a book? That other people will read?

Harrysfrostbittentodger · 08/01/2023 09:18

I thought it was piped into the rooms? Maybe some hospitals haven’t caught up? But I can’t imagine the Portland to be one that still used canisters. And surely even if he did use an entire canister all by himself they would have brought a new one in.

Meghan must have the patience of a saint to put up with him as she does!

Snugglepiggy · 08/01/2023 09:20

If this is true then he's even more of an immature idiot than I thought. What the hell was he doing using gas and air whilst his wife's the one in labour in the first place. Are we supposed to find that anecdote endearing and amusing?
