I've tried to stick with believing these two yet there are more holes than swiss cheese..

I'm sorry it's the DM, they do have the extract though.....

Nitrous oxide ran out..... seriously? Portland....as in Hospital? Ran out of Gas?

Doesn't even know the difference between a Nurse and a Midwife. Pathetic.

LibertySong · 08/01/2023 20:21

I admit I haven't read the entire thread, but I'm pretty sure he meant that that particular canister of Entenox ran out, not that he personally depleted the entire hospital supply

Maireas · 08/01/2023 20:24

No-one is claiming that he depleted the hospital supply, are they? His account says he took plenty and that the midwife was cross. I'm sure the Portland had enough, although that's hardly the point, imo.

LibertySong · 08/01/2023 20:33

Well, this is exactly what the OP was questioning "The Portland Hospital..?? Ran out of gas...?!?!"

Maireas · 08/01/2023 20:51

Yes, but they were disabused of that notion very early on.

PrincessAnnaOfArundale · 09/01/2023 22:19

Surprised at the number of people on here just accepting that ‘dads always have a cheeky go themselves’.... ummm no they don’t and they bloody shouldn’t! I’d have been thoroughly unimpressed if my husband was trying to get high for a laugh while I was in so much pain and working so hard. Harry’s coming across as very immature here and I’m not sure why he would share this information. Does he think we will find it amusing? Relatable? No, it makes him look like a total insensitive plank. I mean the man is close to 40. He needs to grow up. We were only 23 when we had our first and there’s no way in hell my husband would have done this. Stupid juvenile behaviour.

ChangingTheChannel · 09/01/2023 22:25

Lots of dads do try it. Obviously not in later labour but when it’s manageable, so when their partner has a gap between contractions and contractions are not that strong.

Morestrangethings · 09/01/2023 23:25

well, if you think Harry’s behaviour re the gas was juvenile (and it was, but he’s the one who admitted to it) shouldn’t Harry’s behaviour at the birth of his second child, delivering her himself under a doctor’s supervision, indicate how much better he’s been doing since he and Meghan got away to the US.

FoodologistGirl · 10/01/2023 08:29

Big deal, according to my NCT class many a husband has tried the gas and air, more to the point is they didn’t give her another tank, but like he says they obviously wanted to progress the birth.

T1Dmama · 10/01/2023 11:47

He’s making himself look like a total fool!…. Pretty accurate though! What an embarrassment he is to the royals… Diana must be turning in her grave

JusteanBiscuits · 10/01/2023 16:45

When having my first son the portable gas & air ran out and they didn't have any more portable cylinders. And I wasn't yet in delivery so no access to a "plug in the wall" type. So yeah, it happens.

That book appears to be written in the way that B and C list 'celebrities' here in the US write their memoirs; all shock, scandal, and bullshit to try to boost their careers through publicity. As PT Barnum said "Any publicity is good publicity", or words to that effect.

Add in Harry's need to justify himself to himself (and the world) by slating his family and airing dirty laundry and you have the perfect storm. What Harry forgot about airing dirty laundry is that your own is also hanging out in plain view for all to see. And right now the focus appears to (rightly) be on his own dirty pants flapping in the breeze.

Where's Meghan in all of this? I think they have a pretty f'd up relationship dynamic to begin with. But IMHO, she's encouraging him, adding to his grievances, justifying his actions to him. Publicity for him is publicity for her, and again, anything that gets her name in the papers works for her. She knows they have a 'brand' to keep in the public eye. And 'brands' take money, lots of money.

I am not saying that she and he may not have some valid grievances. In any family there are problems. But the right way to handle them is not to blow that family apart and then sell the explosion for millions. Nor to exact petty revenge for past problems by revealing things best kept private.

Thank you for taking them. This is excruciatingly embarrassing and we are well rid of them.

Don't thank us 'too much' just yet. US diplomatic channels are madly working on a 'Fair Trade' deal in which you accept Trump in exchange for H & M. Kind of a 'two-fer' deal, in which we take 2 of yours for one of ours.

Roxy69 · 10/01/2023 21:18

Aaargh!
