The royal family

To think Prince George is never going to find a life partner?

Who on earth would marry into the Royal Family, at this point?

What sort of parent would send their child to the slaughter-house?

The monarchy could well end up crumbling because no-one will be willing to marry into it - due not only to unacceptable levels of press intrusion, but also social media (and God even knows what that’s going to look like by the time George (and his siblings) come of age).

I'd marry into the the RF. I'd love it. I wouldn't marry George because I'm 62 and hes 9 but I'm open to tiaras, golden carriages and village halls. Just second me in.

What a vile thing to write about a 9 year old child.

It’s really not about Prince George, per se.

I just named him, as he’s in line to the throne and the next one up, that will - one day (a long way off) - presumably be looking for a partner (female or male).

The point of the thread was about marrying into the Royal Family.

Marrying in just doesn’t seem to be a bed of roses, and the prospect seems to be getting worse for each generation. I don’t understand why anyone would do it.

I’m really surprised that this is such a controversial viewpoint, I have to admit. I’m not British so maybe I’m missing something.

Sincere (and I really do mean it) apologies to all those I’ve offended. Flowers

Fingers crossed it'll be a republic by then, and if he's kept his head he'll get some good therapy and find a mere pleb to wed.

Maybe he'll turn out to be gay and want to marry a man and really shake the royal family up 😉

...a black gay man.. wonder how that would work with the courtiers and establishment....hopefully we will have moved on by then.

I do wonder how easily William will cut Charlotte and Louis out when their time comes though.

THisbackwithavengeance · 21/12/2022 04:59

Look how well the Middleton family did out of the marriage.

Power, prestige and connections. Pippa went on to marry a billionaire. Had Kate not married William, she very likely would not have even been in that circle to meet him.

History is full of stories of people vying for marriage to Kings and queens and nothing's changed. Kate and Camilla before her were savvy enough to ignore the bad Press and play the long game. Meghan wasn't.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 21/12/2022 06:17

Of course people will still want to marry into it. There's press intrusion with dating anyone famous

Tigresswoods · 21/12/2022 06:22

There are women who marry prisoners on death row.

I think he'll find someone.

ElizabethBest · 21/12/2022 06:22

He’s NINE. I’m pretty sure he’s not on tinder.

susan12345678 · 21/12/2022 06:24

Apparently, some of Harry and Meghan's superfans have now turned their hatred and envy onto George. Perhaps because the great unveiling of H&Ms own children in the Netflix doc didn't spark the collective awe and delight they'd hoped? So transparent.

I predict apoplectic seizures on Christmas day when cute little Louis puts in an appearance.

And I remain convinced that many of those starting these sorts of threads are paid Sussex PR.

maeveiscurious · 21/12/2022 06:27

I think if George goes to University and makes some solid friends like William , I think he will be fine.

Harry and M remind me of Andres and Fergie courting the press didn't end well

Endlesssummer2022 · 21/12/2022 06:28

Extremely unlikely that my family would ever be in that position, but if one of my kids came and told me they were dating a British royal, I’d be having a long hard chat. I would not want that for them.

Chances are if they are in those circles, there are other more low key partners they can find like a minor Lord or something who nobody cares about.

Marrying into British royalty not only invites intrusion into the non royal partners life, it also exposes their relatives. I would not want the Sun or the DM going through my Facebook history and my bins trying to dig dirt on me as the mother of the bride/groom. Both Kate and Meghans mothers wee treated appallingly my the British gutter press.

Anyone actively wanting their child to marry a British royal wants their head examined. You can think you know what you’re getting into but I can only imagine nobody can ever be truly prepared. Chelsea Davey ran and didn’t look back when she saw how it was going. The press were even digging into her families connections to make corruption claims. I remember articles insinuating she was unattractive. Awful stuff.

What do you think an American Hollywood actor needs that only the British royal family can provide?

Even closer proximity to sexual abusers? A renowned racist white grandpa-in-law at the dinner table? Or is it just the chance to rub up against billionaires, which you imply Kate and co. engineered? Surely Meghan could've just gone for that by herself, if she wasn't satisfied with a guy merely scraping by on his mommy's millions. The uber rich clamour to hang out with actual celebs these days. The richest (now second richest) man in the world Elon Musk was booed on stage while striving for validation at a Dave Chappelle gig the other day.

For better or worse, the rest of the world has moved on from worshipping inbred European dynasties.

If anything, Meghan married down.

Plus I don't see any evidence of anyone on Meghan's side wanting anything to do with the Firm, as her late mother-in-law referred to them. Let alone engaging in some kind of feudal family plot as you suggest.

All we can hope is that somewhere in Buck House there's a broom closet of straight, meek Kate-a-likes ready and waiting for the rest of the royal boys...Else this country'll be really screwed eh.

He's 9.

Nine.

Why would you even think this??? About a child.

It's going to be 20 years or so before anyone needs to "worry" about this...

Yeah this

susan12345678 · 21/12/2022 06:35

I do agree that Harry is no catch

THisbackwithavengeance · 21/12/2022 06:41

"If anything, Meghan married down."

Come on, you know that's not true. No one had ever heard of her before she started going out with Harry.

The OP stated that no one would want to marry into the RF due to the bad press, intrusion on one's life etc. I merely disagree and pointed out that some people like Kate and Camilla were able to ignore the bad press and remain within the RF and leading very fulfilling and meaningful lives.

It irritates me when people make out that the RF are living shit lives and are unhappy based no doubt on the Netflix production, The Crown.

I am old enough to remember Diana in her heyday and she was a shagger herself, had numerous affairs which were all brushed over and she was highly manipulative. Even she did very well out of her marriage. Had she not married Charles she would've been just another two-bit posh girl.

Bigheartsshapelittleminds · 21/12/2022 06:42

What a weird thread OP. Why would George not be able to find a partner?! And why does it matter. He could be king on his own without a wife. The monarchy won't fall apart. And by that time Meghan Markle will be long forgotten. Hopefully.

Ironically/weirdly Fergie's status in the press and the royal family dropped after she separated from her sex offender husband.
And the press was more offended by her toes getting sucked than his mum using £12m of our money to bail him out of sexual abuse charges.

She's dead. It killed her. If not the crash, then the RF induced bulimia or suicide might have done it.

You have a very twisted idea of what doing well out of a marriage means.

"Just another two bit posh girl" You must despise yourself.

It’s really not about Prince George, per se.then you should have chosen a different title. It's nasty.

maddiemookins16mum · 21/12/2022 06:58

There will be plenty of eager, entitled, privileged, wealthy young women queuing up. He’ll mix in circles where it’s almost easier to ‘find someone’. It’s not as if he’ll be stuck up in a single bedroom in Croydon playing computer games at 29.

Lol. I really don't despise myself. Yes, Diana died - very sadly- she was in car accident driven by a drunk driver and not wearing a seat belt.

What has a child being sent to the slaughter House got to do with Prince George finding a life partner 🤔

susan12345678 · 21/12/2022 07:05

George is being brought up in a very well-balanced, happy family, surrounded by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. He spends most of his time out of the public eye. Hopefully, when the time comes, his settled background will help him to avoid a marriage to someone catastrophically unsuitable.

It's a bit early to start worrying; he's only 9 Confused
