To think Prince George is never going to find a life partner?

Who on earth would marry into the Royal Family, at this point?

What sort of parent would send their child to the slaughter-house?

The monarchy could well end up crumbling because no-one will be willing to marry into it - due not only to unacceptable levels of press intrusion, but also social media (and God even knows what that’s going to look like by the time George (and his siblings) come of age).

Because everyone in real life's in-laws are a fucking DREAM aren't they? As we see demonstrated right here on the daily.

p4p · 20/12/2022 23:36

YABVVVVVVU

How on earth can a topic like this come to someone's mind? I just don't get it

This is the type of thread that should definitely be in the royal family section so people who want to can avoid ridiculous topics

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 20/12/2022 23:37

Many like Piers and Jeremy will do anything to get into the RF which is why they can't understand M&H.

I don't understand this logic and H&M are still very much in the RF they just don't do the work anymore. They still have the titles (and wanted titles for their DC) and still attend royal events.

Anyway as to the OP, I doubt George will struggle as he will be rich and powerful.

JustLyra · 20/12/2022 23:38

Given that death row inmates have women want to marry them I doubt a man with money, fame, an illusion of power, and access to an incredible selection of homes and jewels is going to struggle

Blocked · 20/12/2022 23:38

Do you not see the irony in making a post complaining about how intense scrutiny might ruin the child's life, whilst simultaneously wondering if he will find a wife when he's still at primary school Xmas Confused

DdraigGoch · 20/12/2022 23:39

I think that royals usually wait until they are adults before marrying these days. The age of political betrothals to infants is long gone. Certainly well past the age when parents have to give permission.

SirenSays · 20/12/2022 23:39

The slaughter house?! It's not like they locked them in the tower or started chopping off heads

Sukisal · 20/12/2022 23:39

What is it the Dowager says in Downton?

“in these situations one can usually find a European…..”

don’t be ridiculous. A) he’s 9 so this is a non problem and B) there will always be someone willing to become the future Queen (consort).

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 20/12/2022 23:42

I agree with everyone saying “he’s 9!”

But also, he will. Loads of people think they would love to marry into the royal family- they may not love it in reality but they think they will.

One of the royals surely at some point will be in a same sex relationship- that will also be a challenge for the media (and possibly some of their relatives) to behave properly about. But we’ll see if they manage.

Fuck sakes, what a silly thing to think.

I mean really you think in 20 years anyone will remotely care about harry and Meghan going off the rails 😂

say what now?

Weirdest thread of the year award

OooScotland · 20/12/2022 23:44

How did this even cross your mind?

He’s going to be the King. He’ll be able to take his pick (of the carefully vetted fillies allowed into his circle)

Same applies if he’s gay.

BMW6 · 20/12/2022 23:46

I strongly suspect Harry found finding someone to settle down with a minefield because he's rather a manchild with a persecution complex.

Not many women have the patience to take on such a daunting prospect without having to entirely subjugate him because, well, SUCH a tosser. He's crying out for a dominant female to tell him what he is, and how to conquer SM.

I won't speculate on the potential love lives of children

LeggyLinda · 20/12/2022 23:50

Interesting question. But, think the more asked question is “who the fuck cares?”.

Well, we are assuming George is not gay and will want to marry a man. How will that go down with the Instituion,

ADifferentKindofChristmas · 21/12/2022 00:03

You could say that about any famous family.

The desire for fame, money, celebrity only seems to be increasing so I think he will be just fine.

YABU to even be giving this headspace in the first placeXmas Hmm

ClareBlue · 21/12/2022 00:04

Litteraly every bride on curvey brides USA says they want to be a princess on their wedding day. Only one way to do that. He will be fine assuming he wants to marry a women.

MangyInseam · 21/12/2022 00:05

There are lots of families some people might not want to marry into. A family business, being a vicar's wife, the PM's spouse, a famous actors partner, the mafia.

Yet there seems to be a lid for almost every pot.

ADifferentKindofChristmas · 21/12/2022 00:05

Also, I am sure it's already been said upthread but he might not even want a life partner and be quite happily single

Honper · 21/12/2022 00:05

It'd be great if it did die out. Unlikely though.

There will always be people who are desperate for fame, money, and titles.

I would say the future life partner will be accepted by the royal family and the press as long as they not not mixed race or from another heritage…

Basing this theory on how Meghan has been treated.

There was some racism from our grim tabloid press, although arguably misogyny, anti American prejudice and snobbery played a bigger role.

As for the current royal family, acknowledging the institution over the centuries benefited from colonialism and slavery there is no evidence all current family members are racist. One member - who H and M don’t name thus casting aspersions on all as you are now doing - said a dodgy comment about the skin colour of a future baby. This has now turned into the whole family being cast as racist by some quarters. Even H and M in their Netflix programme said the Queen and King Charles welcomed Meghan into the family.

New wives of senior royal family members have always got nasty press off the tabloids in the early years. The royal family’s mantra is to ignore it. H and M felt that as some of Meghan’s bad press by the tabloids had racist undertones on top the royal family and palace should drop their never complain, never explain mantra. The family saw it as wives always get bad press in the early years and to ignore it as they have always done. This may have been an error but I think to cast all the family as racist is leaping beyond the evidence.
