The royal family

To think Prince George is never going to find a life partner?

Who on earth would marry into the Royal Family, at this point?

What sort of parent would send their child to the slaughter-house?

The monarchy could well end up crumbling because no-one will be willing to marry into it - due not only to unacceptable levels of press intrusion, but also social media (and God even knows what that’s going to look like by the time George (and his siblings) come of age).

There will always be people who are desperate for fame, money, and titles.

As there will always be people who yearn for the froth.

PyongyangKipperbang · 21/12/2022 00:19

To quote the late great Caroline Aherne "So what first attracted you to millionaire Paul Daniels?"

Money, status....he may only be nine but I guarantee that there will be mothers of girls at his school with their eyes on the prize, after all it worked for Carole Middleton.

ZenNudist · 21/12/2022 00:21

This is hilarious. What could possibly attract women to the millionaire future king? 🤔

PyongyangKipperbang · 21/12/2022 00:21

I just hope that if he (or indeed his siblings) turn out to be gay that his parents have enough sense to simply let him be. I think that they would. Isnt it widely believed that the Duke of Windsor was gay?

GooglyEyeballs · 21/12/2022 00:22

I think you're being a bit extremist OP. Slaughterhouse? Crumbling monarchy? Contemplating a 9 year olds romantic destiny. 😂 chill. Weirdest thread I've seen in a while.

UnicornRidge · 21/12/2022 00:32

@Mumoftwoinprimary @Choccolatte

His current wife is young enough to be his daughter. I thought she is from a well to do family. Why is someone so young doing this to herself?
Bizar how many women throw themselves at him 🙄

Honper · 21/12/2022 00:39

Is prince Edward the duke of Windsor?

TodayIsFridayHooray · 20/12/2022 23:09

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Heck, George is 9, I doubt he’d want to know his Future wife is on Mumsnet and significantly older than him probably by 20 years🤣

steff13 · 21/12/2022 00:52

I can't say that I've ever thought about it. But I'm sure there's always going to be someone interested in marrying the future King.

LikeTearsInRain · 21/12/2022 01:00

Worst case he marries some distant cousin who is about 100th in line

OldFan · 21/12/2022 01:02

I'm sure he won't have a problem finding a wife @HitMeWithAHotNoteAndWatchMeBounce

OldFan · 21/12/2022 01:08

It'd suit certain people maybe. For instance Kate, she's probably ok with playing the Stepford wife some of the time (though we sometimes see other aspects of her too, like when she went to the Sarah Everard vigil.)

(But she might not be happy with the personal stuff in her marriage.)

AlbertaAnnie · 21/12/2022 01:08

I’m sure he will just cuddle into his bags of money and cry into his golden cup…..

OhChristmasTreeOhChristmasTreeFaLaLa · 21/12/2022 01:32

Pretty sure if fat, ugly, poor people can find someone prince George will too. As long as they are a woman, white, English oh and a virgin, they don't like anyone who has been about!

JustLyra · 21/12/2022 01:40

Honper · 21/12/2022 00:39

Is prince Edward the duke of Windsor?

No. The duke of Windsor was formerly King Edward VIII

kateandme · 21/12/2022 01:59

He might be gay and marry a gay black man and adopt a mixed race child.🤗

Liorae · 21/12/2022 02:00

Charles schemed and deceived Diana so he could marry a non-divorcee and have heirs. Dumped her after he was sure he could change public perception and the law instead of abdicate honourably like his grand uncle.
Diana knew that it was an arranged marriage and the she and Charles had hardly met before the wedding. I'm not quite convinced that she was deceived to any great extent. I do think she had youthful romantic dreams that were not realized.

dontgobaconmyheart · 21/12/2022 02:11

I imagine there will be plenty of people lining up for any eligible bachelor with a social status, title (very important still to a great many circles and people) and money, let alone a prince of England.

Nonetheless he is 9 so probably best to cop on to ourselves and find other things to worry about.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 21/12/2022 02:13

Don’t kid yourself.

Hell have endless women queueing round the block.

Suemademedoit · 21/12/2022 02:29

More importantly, what if he decides he doesn’t want to be king? Given William’s probably got another 40-50 years to go, that would put George at around 40-50 when his turn comes round. He might have decided by then that actually he’d quite like to remain a paramedic (or something equally service-y and not commercial) and rise through the ranks, just for a quieter and easier life and one that allows him a wife/husband. Maybe one of his siblings might prefer to be queen or king. Why not, really. First born schmirst born. As long as someone takes the job.

greenteafiend · 21/12/2022 02:35

Y'all are missing the point.

Of course he'll be able to find someone to marry him.

The point is, will he be able to find someone STABLE AND NORMAL who wants to marry him?

The point about "even Death Row killers attract women who are in love with them!" pretty much underlines what I am saying, I think.

LaBellina · 21/12/2022 02:39

What a vile thing to write about a 9 year old child.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 21/12/2022 02:39

Do you think women marrying in get fertility testing (since it became medically possible)?
Nothing to do with the OP, but I have wondered if Kate or Diana were checked out in that regard.

I'd be amazed if they don't. Not sure what happens if it's the born-royal with infertility issues, though. I suppose, if it's the male of the royal couple who can't father children, they could find a donor, kill him swear him to absolute secrecy with a huge payoff and just keep the public non-the-wiser.

The same-sex question is an intriguing one, though, as they'd obviously and openly have to involve somebody who is not the monarch or married to the monarch in order to have progeny - it'd be very interesting to see how that would play out.

TheOnlyBeeInYourBonnet · 21/12/2022 02:39

There are women all over the world putting up with a lot, lot worse from their husbands and in laws every single day.

How? He was such a womaniser.
