Which only goes to demonstrate how insane the US is. They fought a bloody war to get rid of them, but they are welcome to have them if they have changed their minds.

I don't think any of that will happen, I'm just finding the hype and superbowl comparisons too cute by half.

I have no idea how the trip will pan out but there seems to be a lot riding on it. Guess they need it to be a success to prove that the institution itself still has a strong hold in America.

I'm getting butterflies in my stomach at the thought of it.

Might get a tattoo of them both to commemorate the occasion. William on one boob, Kate on the other.

They are in Boston where I live for 3 days this week and I don't know one person who is aware of it - or cares. We had several thanksgiving get togethers this weekend (including two english people and a couple who lived there for a few years during the Diana years) and no one mentioned them. I hadn't realised until a small piece appeared in the boston globe today. I'm sure there will some coverage by the news but frenzy ...

Now there's an idea. Hope his dance moves are up to it. I suspect he might be a bit of a dad dancer though, and gingerly unbutton my top rather than whip it off.

The vitriol on this thread towards the Wales is very odd.

why would I do that? The people I know have no animosity to the Wales at all but are just not that interested in the visit.

I already said the Boston Globe has a small piece today.

I went searching because, as I said I thought they were coming next week. Could find no mention on the NBC news site. There was a Camilla story there though. The ABC news had a short article, but I had to scroll about a foot down the page to find it. I would expect that People and Page Six would have something, that is what they do. Report on the rich and famous tabloid style, though nothing really holds a candle to the tabloids you have there.

There is no Royal frenzy here in the US. Nor are we insane. They are like any other celeb to the majority of us. Someone to see if you can, but only the die hard royal fans would get on a plane to try and get a glimpse. And I say this as a long time US royal watcher.

It's only the usual suspects with precisely that in mind. Same old, same old. 😉
