Prince Harry revealed in his Oprah interview that the Sussexes stopped receiving money from the royal family in the first quarter of 2020. However, newly published accounts reveal that Prince Charles continued to financially support the Sussexes until summer 2020.

I wonder if this is going to be a case of their truth or incorrect wording on Harry’s behalf. Interesting!

FFS, he's a very rich man who can live a very decent life and leave his children a very decent amount just with what he has in the bank.

Furthermore, Harry could have had security with bells on if he had stayed working as a royal in the UK . Ditching his duties (particularly the dull as ditchwater ones) and living in the US - not even a commonwealth country - and expecting full British security was breathtakingly arrogant and clueless.

The security was taken while they were in Canada.

Harry is not whinging about money now.

He explains that at the time, the security was just cut, he asks at some point, did the risk go down.

They were on their one year extension, doing royal duties like the rest of the RF in terms on zoom calls and letters. This was an opportunity for them to find their feet. They don't need money now, they needed security then - which is why it was helpful for Tyler Perry to come in.

I don't understand his 'my family cut me off financially' statement - what sort of entitled person thinks they're family should be paying for them once they're an adult, he'd already had 7 mil from his mother, why should his dad be financially supporting him? He doesn't want to be a royal, that's fine, but he's 36 years old for gods sake and bleating that his family aren't paying his keep. I just find him more and more pathetic and dislikeable by the day.

They didn't have enough money for the level of secirty required. Now they earn enough... but are criticised for how they earn it.

The fact is, their family had credible, racist and army service related death threats (credible enough in one case for conviction) so need 24/7/365 professional protection which costs a fortune. As soon as their security was withdrawn, they had to do whatever they could to earn enough to pay for it for their rest of their lives - and their kids lives. That requires much more capital than £7-£10mil.

Maybe they will need to sell up and downsize if they are struggling.

Why on earth would there be a whisper ? W and C are U.K. based working members of the RF !?

They could have toddled off to a country pad in the UK, stepped back from most royal duties and still had full security. The fly in the ointment was wanting full protection in California. If anyone believes that Meghan intended to live in the back woods of Canada then they’re a bigger fool than Harry is.

That's simply not true. If they weren't full time working royals, they would receive security only on engagements - which obviously leave them and their small children open to being horribly murdered outside working hours (and the kids whenever not with their parents). Not best outcome, you'd presumably agree.

@Mummy194 you forgot the Sussex foundation they opened and closed and left behind after spending hundreds of thousands to set it up? This is small money for the anyways. Keep those Netflix snippets coming! Lots of expense coming with big house, bigger family and all and luxury does not come cheap.

Depending on payment terms you can receive an invoice in Q1 but not necessarily need to pay it until the next Q.
