Play nicely and don’t say anything that will get your post (or the thread) deleted. I’ll start. Archie is cute and it would be lovely to see him more often.

Fascinating to see what production skills H has compared to people who have worked in the industry for decades.

WinnieTheW0rm · 19/08/2020 07:18

How can they even compare, it baffles me

I can see that they would be attractive as speakers, but only talking about the past. Covid has probably reduced that potential, as events are off, and the further in the past the Royal experience the lower the price tag it will carry. Plus, once done a couple of times it will dry up anyhow.

The price they command will depend on what they do next - that's do, not just talk about. So we can't really tell yet, and probably nothing before next spring at the earliest (given that no one is terribly optimistic about being clear enough from the virus before then)

I was wondering if their value would be as a kind of introduction agent? Because they probably can ring up people that other find hard to reach.

Viviennemary · 19/08/2020 09:26

I don't expect everybody will be fans of theirs. There will be some folk who don't approve of two people muscling their way in to trade on their royal status which they rejected anyway. Or at least rejected the bits that didn't suit them.

Hi all, we've deleted some posts that are referring to (and repeating) deleted posts from other threads. Feel free to email us if you have any questions about the moderation of your posts.
Hopefully this thread can get back on track now.

I doubt PH would have come up with the idea of producing anything independently of anyone else. He has no experience. I think Edward and Sophie tried setting up a production company or something similar and fell into debt. Farming and horses is more the sort of thing an ex-Royal might take a stab at PC and PA aren't doing too bad.

MM on the other hand has worked in the industry but possibly considers her "Royal" status makes her too important to return to acting. Production is a natural career choice if you are a successful actress looking to stay within the industry. By successful I mean Julia Roberts or Catherine Zeta Jones successful. Not a bit part in a soap.

I notice they have been pitching this to a number of studios since June. If still pitching and no contract signed and need to leak to the media then surely an indication that no-one biting their hand off to sign up? MM well known for "reaching out@ people or companies to indicate "interest" in order to persuade them to involve her. When perhaps they might not have done otherwise.

Unknown wannabes usually have an agent who seeks out opportunities. Why do they not have an agent? Because if they did they wouldn't need to "reach out" all the time xxx

Even people who have learnt their craft and been pitching ideas to studio bosses for years

Bumlooksbig · 19/08/2020 09:51

My phone completely mangled that. I hope you get what I was trying to say

BottomOfMyPencilCase · 19/08/2020 09:51

Perhaps all the Epstein revelations will decimate the speaking circuit regulars and H&M can sweep into their spots.

KatherineParr4 · 19/08/2020 09:52

God knows what HM is making of all this. She must be absolutely mortified.

mrscampbellblackagain · 19/08/2020 10:00

Seems like Prince Charles is using his sources to correct some of the info in the book. Golly, it is all getting rather messy.

Harry has said he reads the media coverage of him, what must he be thinking of the response to this book?

LittleBearPad · 19/08/2020 10:08

He better not be reading the below the line comments!

ajandjjmum · 19/08/2020 10:10

It has been reported that he reads the comments, which is what really winds him up.

Viviennemary · 19/08/2020 10:11

It is indeed messy. Big mistake. But they won't learn.

Lockupyourbiscuits · 19/08/2020 10:13

I have a sneaky feeling Harry has seen a gap in the market coming up

A new national treasure a la Sir Richard Attenborough!

ajandjjmum · 19/08/2020 10:17

Touring the world making films of elephants - that would give Meghan lots of opportunities to visit the bathroom in the woods!

She could do the commentary.

Based on the fact that Harry fell victim to the Greta Thunberg hoax I’m not sure spending time phoning people they don’t know is a plan.
