Play nicely and don’t say anything that will get your post (or the thread) deleted. I’ll start. Archie is cute and it would be lovely to see him more often.

I confess to always having wondered who poo picks after all the Corgi's and Labradors?! Can't imagine Queenie with poo bags! Does 'one' have some lucky employee who does a daily collection?!

KatherineParr4 · 09/08/2020 22:06

Apparently they aren’t housetrained either ! 😳

FannyCann · 09/08/2020 22:07

Do you think that the Groom of the Stool is deployed to pick up the dog poo these days, now that Queens prefer privacy when using the lavatory?

KatherineParr4 · 09/08/2020 22:08

GrinGrin

SunbathingDragon · 09/08/2020 22:09

I don’t think there are any Corgis left now. I think HMQ is down to just two Dorgis.

Eaumyword · 09/08/2020 22:11

Groom of the Stool! Tremendous Grin
Not housetrained?! So, lifting a leg on a priceless Chippendale chair leg? Good grief, one is not amused. Grin

MoreHippoThanPenguin · 09/08/2020 22:13

I think it is important that we are kind and respectful of the corgis / dorgis.

I am sure it is a pleasure to pick up anything after them and I am equally sure that they “do their business” in an environmentally friendly manner.

KatherineParr4 · 09/08/2020 22:13

Servants had to follow around with soda siphons and blotting paper or some such.. are there really no Corgis now? How very disappointing that is.

Willow died in April 2018 and HMQ had stopped breeding dogs as she didn’t want them to be left behind when she died.

I love a mangle personally

KatherineParr4 · 09/08/2020 22:26

I bet the servants heaved a collective sigh of relief. Particularly the Groom of the Stool..

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 09/08/2020 22:26

That’s quite sad about HMQ and the corgis, you would think she could have trusted (and paid) someone to take care of them after she died.

SunbathingDragon · 09/08/2020 22:30

Although this has made me wonder how old HMQ’s dorgis are.

Oldbutstillgotit · 09/08/2020 22:33

The dorgis are in Balmoral with HM. There was a photo of them being ( respectfully) carried off the plane.

Eaumyword · 09/08/2020 22:38

I agree, they'd hardly go to Dogs Trust, but I suppose if they were incontinent snappy critters, it would be difficult to continue caring properly for them?
I think the RF institutionally is outdated, but I'm also sad at the idea of Queenie going Sad

LizziesTwin · 10/08/2020 05:25

I know people who knew her mum & they never said anything about her dogs not being house trained. I shall have to ask next time we’re having a chat.

lifestooshort123 · 10/08/2020 06:30

I expect there would be room in the gadget drawer for a nutmeg grater and apple slicer and, talking of house-training the corgis/dorgis, I can see the silicone lavatory brush coming in useful.

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 10/08/2020 07:12

In a mansion of that size bathroom gadgets probably have their very own drawer.
The interior design of the mansion is quite crass but each to his own. It would be interesting to see the comments if it were to be pictured on one of Mumsnet’s Zoopla property threads.

From the rare photos that I have seen of Archie he is cute and I agree it would be great to see more of him.
KatherineParr4 · 10/08/2020 08:36

Will the cook know how to use the gadgets though? It might be bewildering . Perhaps there is a special instruction book for them with pictures? Meals might take a look g time because the cook has to look for the appropriate gadget for each task? There’s no point having them if they aren’t all used after all!

MoreHippoThanPenguin · 10/08/2020 08:56

I think maybe there could be some kind of community project to teach people to use the gadgets?

lifestooshort123 · 10/08/2020 08:56

Surely the gadgets would help if one was trying to roast a chicken though? Are you suggesting a picture book?

KatherineParr4 · 10/08/2020 09:10

perhaps the cook has to keep a tally of which gadgets they have used each week and then there is a meeting to discuss how performance could be improved. No discrimination amongst gadgets, equal opportunity for each etc.

MoreHippoThanPenguin · 10/08/2020 11:13

But Katherine, surely there needs to be some kind of positive discrimination for environmentally friendly gadgets?

Boring in here, isn’t it? One day all threads will be like this.
