Reporting that her lawyers had to get involved, that’s immediately had an effect on the public perception of them. I mean, the real implication here is that the Queen’s lawyers have issued a warning letter to the Queen’s own grandson ... That’s pretty immense.

I think M is inferring that in her own right she’s as important as Harry with that stuff about her own profile which is just beyond belief self regarding.

The bit about Meghan's 'independent profile' is just smoothing it over so it doesn't look like only Harry and Archie matter. Though it isn't unknown for actresses to become the focus of stalkers - look at Jodie Foster - but that wouldn't mean the British taxpayer should cover it.

I'm surprised H has authorised all these statements, given he grew up at the highest level in the RF.

It's pretty well known that H isn't the sharpest tool in the box tbh.

Aside from that he's "all in" regarding this change in lifestyle.

They'd been planning this for a long time before the announcement and had anticipated that having made their demands everyone would agree to prevent a scandal and to "protect" Harry and Archie.

Their mistake was that The Firm has always put the institution of Monarchy before any individual.

Megan probably didn't understand this and Harry didn't consider that this ethos would apply to him.

He thought Granny and Daddy would roll over - without understanding that they couldn't even if they wanted to. Much of what they wanted (security and use of the word Royal particularly) needed not just HMQ's approval but also that of the Government.

Monarchy also needs the support of the people and H&M's actions were generally unpopular. Step away by all means but they woefully misjudged the backlash to their "cake and eat it" approach. The Firm couldn't be seen to condone this. It always had to be "in or out".

So now they're pissed off and being churlish because the grand plan hasn't materialised and give no fucks as too how many bridges they burn now because they think it's not them, it's everyone against them.

Let them crack on....

I actually don’t mind paying for their security. I know it’s the principle of the thing but if it comes to them actually dying because we didn’t pay for it, they can have my 10p a year or whatever. On the other hand they can sodding afford it themselves. But I do think they need security. All of them. Even rotten ol’ Meghan.

Well if she is pregnant, this stress will not be good for her. As stated previously a pregnancy now would be useful timing but she’s putting a huge strain on her body at her age with such a short interval.

They must be sooooo cross they haven’t got their own way. I can imagine PH thinking HMQ and PC would cave in to them as he is struggling with his MH, as he reminded the world via the JP Morgan event. But rules is rules and convention and legislation is there to protect the Monarchy in an independent and fair way. Can’t be one rule for one and one for another. Otherwise W&K could have also said oh great we’ll go part time, pick the events we want, keep all our funding, with the new found free time we can holiday more and we’ll pop back when we need to be King and Queen.

I still can’t quite get over how spectacular that statement is.

Even yesterday lunchtime when I read The Daily Mail report that Meghan’s friends had said she was raging about being told they couldn’t use ‘Royal’ and that she legally could do outside the UK ... I thought it was possible that the RF’s PR people had placed that article to make M look bad.

But then their statement came out. And how M & H really feel is clearly written there and implied between the lines.

I’ve just had a thought - what if the threat wasn’t to remove their titles but to remove Harry & therefore Archie from the line of succession. That would make sense of that weird wording in the Sussexes statement.

It’s all so horribly manipulative. Hateful behaviour. I really am surprised the prince appears to have so little concern for his elderly grandparents, one of who is very frail.

As someone else has already said, here, even during the engagement photo shoot, her conduct jarred. I fear her disingenuousness was there for anyone with nerve endings, to see.

I read something about there being rumours of M possibly being pregnant already, along with an observation of her holding files and a bag in front of her (as she did with Archie), when normally she would have someone else carry her belongings. But I can't imagine she could be showing yet anyway - she's not lost all of her baby-weight from last time yet, (and that is absolutely NOT a criticism - took me years!) so is wearing looser clothes generally.

Your right cutting , H should of realised all of this, he's not a newcomer after all ! . But I think , after growing up with his privileged position only seeing HMQ as his granny and not THE QUEEN , that he misjudged just what he could get away with! I also think whatever people say about Meghan if Harry hadn’t wanted to leave the RF it wouldn’t have happened in this way. So disrespectful to his grandmother.
