It's clear that they've been planning the move for a long time and spent most of last year laying the groundwork to present themselves as victims who have no option but to escape to (lucrative) opportunities in the USA (I don't believe for a second that they intend to ultimately make a home in Canada).

They shouldn't have did all this branding without speaking to the palace first. They've been rightly kicked into touch. I don't dislike them actually but I think the Queen has been handling this perfectly. She's pretty bad ass as my teens would say.

My goodness, who on earth is advising H&M?!? The statement they put out last night is absolutely breathtaking. I feel sorry for the Queen having to deal with all of this rubbish.

They (Meghan) are making piss-poor decisions and floundering badly.

It's actually quite pitiful to watch.

Harry may still be sixth in line for the throne but I think it’s crystal clear that he would not step up to the role. I agree, I feel sorry for the Queen and am deeply disappointed in Harry.

Another pregnancy will out her out of action for at least a year, so I guess she won’t be doing that anytime soon. She needs to be working very hard now to free them from the shackles of the RF

I think she will be trying to get pregnant asap.

She is not a young woman.

She could do with the popularity boost which a pregnancy will bring.

What I want to know is what alerted William and all Harry's friends to the fact that he might be making a mistake in marrying Meghan. Was it purely and simply the speed of the courtship? Or did she/they let slip some of her/their ideas for their future path, which set the alarm bells ringing?
Blind Gossip, if you scroll back the last couple of years, have been warning of this current stuff for ages. I took it all with a pinch of salt originally, but nearly all of it has in fact turned out to be pretty much bang-on-the-nose.

When M said she didn't know who H was before dating him, I think she actually meant was that she had no idea how the British RF works. H really should have schooled her, instead of pretending it would all be fine.

I'm surprised H has authorised all these statements, given he grew up at the highest level in the RF. He knows (I'm not sure how to do italics or bold) what is acceptable and what is not acceptable as a member of the RF, and also palatable to the British public.

If they are not careful, the gravy train the whole RF are all on will come to a screeching halt once HM is no longer around. I really don't think Charles or William would have acted as decisively as HM has in all of this.

Not sure how aware Prince Philip is of all these latest developments, but my guess is that his view would be that Harry is Diana's son. She had a rebellious streak and was determined to do things her way.

I think they'll announce the next pregnancy the week before the Commonwealth event...not long to go now!

Obviously family and friends would have had greater insight, but from their engagement interview, I didn't warm to her. I remember seeing her in the Royal Box at the Royal Variety Show (?) in the early days, visually clocking a camera, and going all silly playing with her hair. She's an actress, and that's how she always appeared to me.

But I wanted it to work for them, because like many others, I respect the RF, and will always have a soft spot for Harry - even when he behaves like an idiot.

Harry so desperately wanted to be loved - and have the family that William has. Really feel for him, but he's not chosen wisely imo.

Angelina you may well be right on the money WRT Prince Philip's views on Diana (and therefore Harry.)

I, too, wonder what made William and Co. pause for thought when Harry was considering marrying MM.

Was it simply that the cultural divide was too wide?
