My tuppence worth - I think they’ve agreed to not use royal as they were told that if they did The Sussex title would be removed.

Yes that’s exactly what the added-to Blind Item Froq posted above says. That if they didn’t give up the Royal, the Duke, Duchess and Sussex were going too. If that happened, Harry would still be Prince Harry, and Meghan would be ... Meghan.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 22/02/2020 11:45

It’s behind a paywall unfortunately so let me know photos are required

The comments on the blinds - oh my.

The pair of them must be thinking wtf - I actually feel a bit sorry for them. They are floundering so much it concerns me.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 22/02/2020 11:46

Makes sense froq & dandy

TheMustressMhor · 22/02/2020 11:49

If the Dukedom was removed, Meghan would be Princess Henry.

Yeah. I can see her loving that.

PS

The last part of Thread 18 was Most Enjoyable.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 22/02/2020 11:51

Maybe they were threatened with the loss of all royal titles? Can’t see them agreeing otherwise

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 22/02/2020 11:53

The subject of their next speech Don’t Make The Same Mistake We Did: How To Avoid Getting Ruthlessly Owned By A Sweet 93-year-old Great Grandma In A Big Hat.

The Times are on a roll!

DandyRaven · 22/02/2020 11:53

Yes thanks for new thread!

Joining in with this wine roasting thing, thanks btw @Froq for the last thread and it’s non-derailment, despite for a few blips it was my favourite. Some v funny posts and posters. Wine

Talking of that, was hoping to have Buttery’s SussEx Royal in this title Sad

PelicanPie · 22/02/2020 11:53

Those were my thoughts too - they were told to drop the Sussex Royal branding or their titles would be taken away.
I really think if they weren’t dependent on Charles for finding their lifestyle they would have been a lot ruder and a lot more ‘fuck you’. That may still come. I have a feeling that things are going g to get a lot more ugly. At some point I think M will decide it’s not worth all the hassle and the rings will be in the post.

drina27 · 22/02/2020 12:00

“ Well, The Queen heard all that nonsense, clapped back with some serious side eye, and said, “GTFO!”

CallmeAngelina · 22/02/2020 12:05

In the BG Comments section:
"The Sussexes formerly known as Royal."

I'm surprised by how publicly unpleasant things have become between the Sussex's and the Royals already. This really isn't going how Harry and Meghan must have planned it.

It's clear they thought they could present the Queen with a fait accompli and she'd be forced to go along with it, and she simply isn't having it

Rainbunny · 22/02/2020 12:06

Well, well this soap opera is the gift that keeps on giving!

What a bratty (but entertaining) statement to put out, H&M sound like a pair of petulant teenagers who feel they've been completely wronged and they're explaining why point by point all the adults around them are awful! LO-fucking-L!

Well, that's the last vestige of familial feelings down the pan. It's open warfare now between H&M and the rest of the RF. I hope they don't show up for the commonwealth day events, it would distract from the event itself as everyone (me!) will be focused on the uncomfortable sight of seeing them and the other RF members trying to fake that they don't all hate each other now.

DandyRaven · 22/02/2020 12:07

That Timor’s article is funny, thanks for that Tiara Wine

That’s the BBC and The Times who’ve now called them out on being grabby and wanting the benefits of being Royal without the responsibilities, as Blind Gossip put it.

Spring has indeed Sprung. I’m in two minds as to whether MM will be Appearing next month. Stay away with a good excuse or brazen it out and stand as near to the Queen as possible and smile, smile, smile.

Oldbutstillgotit · 22/02/2020 12:08

Hope everyone is ok .

BahMooQuack · 22/02/2020 12:13

I'd love photos of the Times article if that is okay. Thanks

I loved the Shakespeare from the previous thread.

caperberries · 22/02/2020 12:13

Just looked on Instagram, the Sussex & Kensington follower numbers are startlingly similar - but Kensington now have slightly more than Sussex.

BahMooQuack · 22/02/2020 12:14

The Sussexes formally known as royal' Hah!

The SussEXs

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 22/02/2020 12:14

They could go with SoSexRyl
Or So Regal or something. It would be helpful if the put a suggestion box on the gates of Buckingham Palace hmm?

HauntedDolls · 22/02/2020 12:15

Oh, off to read the BG...

CallmeAngelina · 22/02/2020 12:15

Another suggestion from BG:
"Sux 2Be Us"

DandyRaven · 22/02/2020 12:15

Interesting caperberries. Had they had less recently? Had they actually been overtaken?

DandyRaven · 22/02/2020 12:18

The SussEx Royal joke is being made in The Times too. Thanks to GrinchlyWords, we’ve had it for days, just sayin’ Wink

Seriously though, that’s the think. This To Be Royal or Not To Be Royal titling thing has made them a laughing stock.

Butterymuffin · 22/02/2020 12:18

was hoping to haveButtery’s SussEx Royal in this title

There'll be plenty of time for that. It will apply for the foreseeable future. I think 'Spring has Sprung' and 'April Fools' can be used first! But first, the current thread..

I can't get to the Times article so would appreciate photos if you can please tiara ! Just about to check the blind item.
