I'm pretty sure that Gizmo only tolerated me for weeks. But he loves me now.

Linney was always a bit scared. He'd been waiting for adoption for ages, in a cat house in the foster parent's garden. He was in it with Emerald and they were both afraid when they came to us.

Cats always take their time. We all need great patience.

I doubt if he's even mentioned the subject of his address and phone number.
According to both DD2 and DS2 (who are the ones that live in the village) he's never discussed me, or why he left. It's just not a topic of conversation.
I believe that. He's extremely secretive and private.

So, as they both have his address and phone number......

Why can't I have them, too? For me, it's not because I want to contact him, and I have no intention of phoning or texting him.

I just don't understand why they are keeping this a secret.

I could find his car, quite easily. I haven't looked yet, but the next village is small, so it wouldn't take long to find the car. But why should I have to?
It's infantile of them, not telling me.

And the older DC (who live in London) are not interested in contacting him.

DS1 was here at Christmas time. After he'd been here for three days, I asked him if he'd seen X.

He looked horrified and just said "fuck, no."

Neither of them have the address or phone number, either, although they don't want them.

Interesting. And this is causing serious ructions between me and DD2.

Whoevers lap that is, from their body posture it looks like they are waiting to be bitten/clawed or both....Gizmo is certainly his own cat!

If you have no intention of contacting him in any way, and presumably not stalking him either, you don't need contact details for anything. Let the offspring have their little secret, it's the only control they have over the whole situation.

Aw! Gizmo's a lovely cat.
He can be very affectionate.
He's got a big personality and he has definite likes and dislikes, but he loves it when I stroke him and he purrs for ages.

Whereas I was wearing a brand-new blouse with gorgeous trousers.

For the first month Stripey was with us she would run away if DH so much as looked at her (we wondered if she hadn’t met many men).

Now she approaches him when he is watching TV and gives him kisses on the head.

It sounds like Micia is doing really well, just needs time to decompress and learn she is at home.

I'm eyeing this one up. As a pixie I'm very easily distracted 😕

The next one who's coming is a humongous black and white cat who apparently likes to bite people's fingers, so I might get less attached!

I arranged Foster Cat's adoption... And she's actually moving in with my neighbour and friend next door. So I daresay we'll still seeing a bit of her!

And I had three friends round last night - Kitty whisked herself under the sofa & then quietly slipped into the bedroom while the others weren’t looking. So her hiding from you two was not at all personal.

That’s fabulous! Although perhaps not the finger biting quite so much.

A couple of mine went to people I know & it’s lovely to still be able to see them.

He's keeping her name too, which I'm pleased about!

Fred is just a poor little baby who has nowhere comfortable to lie, and has to use the router as his pillow. Clearly the sofa he is on the back of, plus the cushions on said sofa, are not as comfortable!

Whereas Linney is comfortably ensconced on the side of the sofa where my awful husband used to sit.

.Definite improvement on occupancy there! Not only have you lost the previous occupant of that space, but there's a much lovelier and more handsome replacement 😂
